Bought Stripper Scent from Chemical Guys so i posted my review....

Bad product. It doesn't last, and it leaves "lipstick stains" on fabrics.

Only kidding, of course. Never used it, and the name is sort of gross.

I think what Junebug is saying is that Adam's and PB and a couple other products are widely acknowledged as rebadged or slightly re-engineered CG products. A while ago, I thought I had stumbled onto some great big Warner/CG/InstaFinish/etc. conspiracy only to discover that it was fairly common knowledge to the veterans on this forum. Some of it is conjecture, and I've read some of it is confirmed. Take it for what it's worth.

Well, without starting a flame war - the rebranding/rebottled thing isn't true. Does warner supply components of many companies products, ours included. Sure, but very little for us. There are very few sources for chemical components in the market, keep that in mind. Are we simply taking a product straight from them and putting our label on it? Absolutely not.

If that were the case we would not be working towards our In & Out Rerelease and simply put our label on Fade 2 Black. Seems like that would be the easiest way to go right? Nope, instead we've had one of our best selling products out of the line for years now while we work on getting a new version. That performs like our old and stays VOC compliant.

We source chemicals from a VERY wide variety of manufactures, some premixed to our exact specifications, others simply components that are combined/mixed in our warehouse. One thing I can promise you is that our products are our own other than the obvious things like pads, towels, etc.

The commonly thrown out thing was that our proximity to Warner in SoCal made it obvious we were simply rebottling their product, well... we're in Colorado now and the accusations continue to fly. Just one more piece of that conspiracy theory that has fallen, yet no one points to that in these discussions.

Oh well, its a horse I've had to beat to death many many times before... people are gonna believe what they want to believe. I'm not here to try and convince you of things.

I know the truth and its far from what gets thrown around, and what I find most annoying is many people if asked have never tried our products and just take the rumors and accusations as the gospel. Seems terribly unfair to characterize our line as a rebottle without ever even trying the products first hand.

Also guys, keep in mind we're not in the business of supplying product to high volume detailers. To provide the service and support we do with free clinics, customer service, video production, etc is costly... we are aimed squarely at the do it yourself, learning to detail customer. I don't need to host an autopia detail clinic on PC use, b/c most if not all of you already have that skill set. Many of you guys simply are not our target group... not a bad thing - I used to run a detailing business... overhead is overhead. If you can find a product line you like at your budget all I can tell you is USE IT OFTEN!!

There are products in our line that I know many of you use in high volume, our soap and VRT being two of them, but we make no illusions... we're not in the business of trying to supply high volume users who are detailing for profit. A good 80-90% of our customers are guys working in their garages on the weekend for their own pleasure and want a line that provides an easy to use, customer oriented brand. Thats us.

Back on topic... I laughed the first time I smelled Stripper Scent... it really does remind me of a Strip Club (don't ask me how I know :D ) I've not used it so I can't speak to longevity, but as far as scent accuracy kudos to the CG guys

I think I'll feel bad when the Stripper Scent gets old and gets kicked to the curb by some new young air freshner..... ;)

Going back off topic for just a minute, I have always had excellent customer service from you (Chemical) guys. (Note: I am in Florida and have no relationship of any nature with your company other than a web customer.) That being said, it is unimaginable the nonsense you (and other online retailers) have to deal with. Just last week, someone was complaining about your shipping rates. Anyone who complains about CG shipping rates is utterly and absolutely clueless as to how much it actually costs to ship something. While I'm certain there is the odd exception, I'm certain your company actually is subsidizing part of the shipping tab for every order you send. I know that has been the case for EVERY order I've ever placed. Anyway, I like your products, greatly appreciate your service and will continue to purchase from you in the future. Thank you.

I think I'll order some Stripper Scent since reading Dylan's post, it's been a long time since I visited a "gentleman's club" and I could use a little reminder every now and then. I guess I'll have to tell the wife that my customers requested it by name, since she knows a few of them it'll be pretty funny.

Noob boy - lose the attitude and and feeble attempt at humor..

The conversation with my wife about it was pretty awkward... I was telling her, "yea the competition has this new air freshener, it smells EXACTLY like strippers.... whooops" the look on her face was a very not amused one as I fumbled to try and find a way to take that one back.

It was a little too late for the "um... well... er... thats what I've been told they smell like anyways.... love ya honey" :lol

I like the stripper scent i have a handful of customers that love it in there car, Is does wear off after a day or so but thats what keeps them coming back for more!

i'll sell you mine.

I couldn't decide on a response, so feel free to choose any one of the following:

1. I used this in my truck, and the valet left a dollar strapped to my visor.

2. I used this in my truck, and guys with gold chains kept smacking it.

3. I used this in my truck, and the valet asked if I wanted to pay $20 for a "private" spot.

4. I used this in my truck, and it kept trying to drive towards light poles.

5. I used this in my truck, and kept finding glitter everywhere for weeks.

6. I used this in my truck, but only to help me get through college.

7. I used this on my Camry, and it insisted on being spelled "Kamrie".

Ok, I'm better now. My inner teenager thanks you.

Jeez, I should know better than get into noob threads - but i'm bored, so here goes - CG ie Warner Chemicals makes most of that crap ya'll sit around and smile so smugley about, and any if you're half normal, any smell starts to be unrecogizable after a few days. Huh? you say, yeah - go on vacation and spend a couple weeks, get back and and you can smell your house. Well, not really, it always smelled like that, it's just you get use to it.

The fact that someone named "junebug" replied to a stripper scent thread makes my July 4th. Thanks!

Along with the stripper smell, is there also a hint of cigarette smoke filled room smell? I find it pretty funny that somone is actually selling something labeled as this, but anything that makes a buck

Does the stripper scent feel fake? Like it contains silicone? I like my scents natural.

LOL

No but if you spend the night with it in your bed it comes with a free sense of regret and immediate urge to pay a visit to your doctor for a checkup :D

Am I supposed to dilute this stuff? I sprayed it liberally in my car and it was a little too strong - yes, but I noticed it left greasy/sugary stains on my console, etc where it misted from the seats. Had to use some Megs Interior to clean it off to my OCD standards.

Maybe just a few spritzes on the seat fabric every so often?

doesn't smell like a stripper LOL, but i just use an adjustable cone (different scents to choose from and you can visualy see when it has to be replaced) that fits right in the cup holder and it costs a whole whopping $1...

Yeah, but only old ladies smell like vanilla. I think..

it's not the only option (i'm sure everyone has bought those little yellow trees that smell like vanilla at one time or another), just throwing it out there...
