Bought a Shark steamer - damn its fun

So I went out today and bought a Shark handheld steamer and it sucked. The pressure was just not there, and the crappy pressure wouldnt even last that long. I hated it.



Then I went to Lowes and bought a different Shark steamer and WOW, what a difference. So much more pressure. It is too much fun. Took out all my seats, gave them a good cleaning. And washed pretty much every piece of plastic/leather in the car. Didnt melt anything, super easy to use, and i suggest you go out and buy one!!!



I cant wait to use it on my infinity's leather and see the results.
 
You know I'm print all these positive Shark reviews, and taping them to the wife's steering wheel! I can't wait till Father's Day, I mentioned that Lowes was having a sale, but all I heard back was - they'll be a better one on Memorial Day - go figure.

Tip: show her clips on how she can clean and sanatize the drapes and curtains while their still hanging, doing clothes on a hanger instead of ironing.



Tip (after you talk her into buying it - fingers crossed): Use microfiber bonnets, or the cheaper terry cloth bonnets, on the end of the attachments. They will go on easier, stay on better, and you can put them on different attachments to get inside some tighter spots. Use a hd rubber band if the need be.



Look up the many videos on google video. Search for auto steam cleaning and such. I use mine to wash my car quite often when it just has a light dust I want to get off before I put on another new coat of wax. It's amazing how many steam cleaning car wash businesses there are. Especially when water is at a premium.



Got some dried out wax showing in the very tightest of creavaces? Use the steamer and a good very "soft" bristle brush to get out those stubborn, hard to get out, build ups.



It really is actually fun using it. :up

I just got one of these about a week ago:

Steam Fast... pretty much the same deal as the Shark, it just came with several more attachments that I wanted. God do I love this thing... does an amazing job on plastic/vinyl/leather and helps a ton when cleaning upholstery. On plastic pieces/dash/leather, I just blow a little area with enough steam to get it warm/wet, then wipe off with a MF. It saves a lot of time when cleaning areas like the dash, plastic pieces, and leather seats. If you fill it up all the way, it lasts for a really long time as well, and when you run out, it will heat up a full tank in like 4 minutes...



I used it to clean my sister's '97 accord leather seats and the leather actually feels soft now. They felt sort of hard before I had ever used steam on them... +1 for steam, I love it :D
 
Stop with these threads lol... I want one sooo bad, I was looking at the Shark today at Lowes. Im waiting for a sale lol. Is there a way to get more attachments for it? I have also been thinking of a Steam Fast, the one I was looking at you can use on your clothes, might be able to get a def yes from the fiance, she is on the fence.

Id liek to know how I make the money but she controls it... Hmmm
 
The pictures are true. The small one sucks so very bad. And the one on wheels is the win! Used it on my engine today, worked great, but I could definitely use some chemicals on some areas.



Used it to clean my mom's floor mats...cloth was black after I was done rubbing them down.



I wonder if I can clean myself with this thing...



The thing has almost paid for itself, Ive already done three $20 carpet jobs. W00t!

I have that exact one, but it's yellow and it's branded as a Bissel. I agree--it's nothing special. I've found more household applications for it than automotive applications. :wall
