Bought a Gilmour Foammaster II ( need advice )

Well, I received my Gilmour foammaster II in the mail yesterday, accompanied by a bottle of super suds II bu CG. I used it yesterday, but didn't really get the foam I was expecting?



Any advice on how I correctly use the device?



I put it toghether and only had one little part that i didn't find yhe use of? It's a little piece that's black and flat... I then plugged in the water hose and put the CG suds in the bottle and started spraying, with the selector from A to D, but never really got that thick foam?
 
You need to be sure to adjust it to the highest ratio to get maximum suds. I think I use around 3oz of soap and fill the rest with water. You aren't going to get the kind of foam you will get from a foam lance on a pressure washer but it is still very useful in my opinion as a pre-soak.



I soak it first for a few minutes, then give it a thorough rinse to remove as much dirt as possible, then soak it again and immediately wash (two bucket method and a sheepskin), using the foam on the panels as extra lube to ensure a very gentle wash.

That flat black piece is the fan spray nozzle--you won't be using that if you want foam. Do you have the foam nozzle on it? It's about 3 inches long, 1" diameter black plastic with aeration holes in it.
 
Yes, got the correct nozzle on it, will be testing it again on the GF car tomorrow... Will use a few oz of sudds II and fill the rest with water.



I have a karcher pressure washer; that I use to clean it woth afterwards.
 
Everybody seems to use these differently; I have the Foammaster (with the metal parts) with the quart jar. I usually put 8 oz of car wash in the cup (and therefore 24 oz of water) and set the slide to the middle hole (4oz/gal). That works out to 1oz of wash per gallon, which should be the dilution for that CG wash. Some people (Accumulator, Spilchy and others) seem to dilute the wash down much more in the cup, while others seem to put much more in. I always try to get the mix coming out of the gun at the "normal" bucket dilution...perhaps I'm too much of a conformist...
 
i don't dilute my soap, just fill that baby straight up with Blackfire car wash, So far i feel bf is the best soap for the foam gun. I use the E setting and do about 2 full washes and use a 1/4 or less or soap.
