If it performs as stated, it could weigh 1500lbs and require a medium duty garden tractor to push it around and it'd be worth moving all the furniture to vacuum every week

Wow, what a blast from the past Steve.
I do not have my Dyson anymore. My ex-wife got it in the divorce. She specifically stated in the decree that SHE gets the vacuum. I don't know why. I bet there is more dust on it than in the canister.

Bought a Dyson Animal a couple of years ago to replace the Oreck. Should have done it years sooner. Last year picked up the Dyson dustbuster and its great but the battery dosen't last as long as I would like.Bought the Animal at Kohls while on sale and with the 30% off coupon that comes from time to time by having a kohls charge . We bought a DC14 a few years ago & love it. Took it home & vacuumed the carpet with our Kirby, then with the Dyson, & the Dyson picked up stuff that the Kirby missed! One tidbit of info for everyone. If you tilt the handle back & the cleaner housing (part with the brush) doesn't lay flat on the carpet, you've most likely got a bad hose. Dyson's use that hose on the bottom as a spring to press the cleaner housing down & keep it flat. They all go bad eventually. They're covered by the 5 year warranty, & only cost about $10 when the warranty expires. Just had to replace mine last week. The guy said sooner or later all DC07's and 14's do it. The later ones are made different.
