Bosch GPO12CE

I was kicking around replacing my Dewalt Rotary with a new rotary and was looking at the Bosch GPO12CE. Does anyone have one, and what are their thoughts. They ring in at around $350.00. Any reviews would be greatly appreciated.

I could look that model up, but you started it!

Not farmilar with this unit.

I gather it is a variable speed rotary buffer?

I have a Bosch dual action that I find to be all that I would ask for.

The Bosch rotary's, my time with them, goes back a few years and were not a "variable speed" unit, but the only one, at the time, that could take hours on end to polish aluminum fuel tanks, wheels, diamond plate for over the road trucks.

They were almost unbreakable.

It is variable speed. What I like is that the unit itself looks a bit smaller and is light weight. I am just wondering about the durability of it for that amount of money. I agree there isn't too much info on this product, which makes it intriguing for me to try it.

Here is a link.

Interesting. Not crazy about the handle setup, but that can be easily modified to a DeWalt style.

Bosch makes quality tools, that is for sure.

I don't know what you're seeing on your screen, but when I go to that link I see the Bosch Tools generic site with a Malaysian Flag in the header and a contact ph# that isn't in North America.

Not to mention the spindle threads listed as M14 and the weight in kg. Unfortunately, the voltage isn't listed.

It doesn't seem to be a tool meant for the US.

Bosch USA's site doesn't have the GPO 12 CE but the NA equivalent appears to be the GP712VS.

The weight of the GP712VS is listed as 9.7lbs, seriously hefty. Hopefully, that's overall weight for the box and all accessories.

At under 200 bucks it might be quite a bargain.

I have the GPt12VS and it is a HOSS. It has a 5/8-11 thread, I polish metal for the most part with it but do some paint work and polishing a few times a year. I had it catch on a sharp edge of a wheel with a 7in spiral sown buff and it pulled me off my stool and in the Floor before i could let off the trigger..LOL. Its got a great load sensitive circuit that maintains speed no matter how much load you put on it. It is also smaller than the dewalt or mikita. I must have a loop handle but you could thread in a side handle if you wanted. I dont rember if it came with one or not but a Bosch angle grinder handle should thread in. The tool itself seems lighter than the dewalt.
