I am looking on AUTOGEEK for my pads and was wondering if I would use a lambswool, terry,or mf bonnets that come in there kit?Does anybody use these items? Not a bad deal the LC kit they offer but dunno if I really need 2 each of these bonnets?

Antonio, I don't believe that has was looking at getting more pads but bonnets to remove product.
Glen, I only remove product by hand and a MF. But the lambswool that they are referring to is for cutting (when used by itself) or as a cushoin for the other bonnets.

No I use wool and foam pads . Bonnets would be something that would go over a pad or backing pad (like the cheap orbitals). I have read that some people put them over pads on their PCs for extra buffing, but I do not know if there is any benefit over hand final buffing or if the mf bonnet is even as good a quality as some final mf buffing cloths.

I've tried the MF bonnets for a final buff, but didn't see a big diffrence from doing it by hand. They are very thin, so there not idea for removing products IMO. I've went back to doing it by hand.

Based on my long ago experience with bonnets and a 10" random orbital, I would save my money. MF bonnets were not yet available at that time, but the terry ones just weren't big enough to remove wax without changing a time or two. They became loaded with product residue. The MF bonnets would seem likely to do the same. Changing bonnets was a nuisance.
If you want to use the PC to remove product, put a MF over a pad on the PC, set the speed to about 2, and have at it. The pad will grab onto the MF and keep it from going anywhere. For someone that has limited strength or mobility it might be OK, but holding the PC might require more effort than just using a MF by itself. Not an original idea from me, but I can't remember who first mentioned it. I think it was one of the old timers on Autopia.
I have done it and didn't think it was worth it.
FWIW, Meguiar's has a package deal with 2 polishing pads and 1 finishing pad here.
If you need a backing plate as well, they have the 3 pads and a Velcro backing plate here.
You might be able to order the same package from a local Meg's distributor and not have to pay any shipping.

Am not a fan of MF bonnets. have used them in application and buffing. Been there will not go back again. The money I spent on bonnets is a waste for me. I could have purchased polish, a wax or some good MF towels.

I choose to buy my pads individual and skip the kit which had the bonnets, just thought the kit was a good deal but not if I dont use half the stuff. thanks guys.
