BMW Car Shampoo

Just bought some BMW Car Shampoo yesterday. Is this Sonax or P21S? It's orange and doesn't smell like apples like other post suggest when it's P21S.

its def p21s, the bottle is identical and so is the cap with the inside label of i believe 100mL. if you want sonax, go to a local mini dealer---that seems to be the consenus on the autopian board anyways:D

I called Checkered Flag BMW here at the Beach, and the Parts/Service guy said that both CF BMW and CF Mini receive the same product--whether it's Sonax or P21s, he couldn't confirm.

I really wish I new for sure. I tried it out today and wasn't real impressed.

Then it sure wasn't Sonax! :p

The stuff is awesome - and I speak for a lot of people in the board. I'm not pleased with P21s soap.

Just one more question...Could it be the BMW shampoo I got was actually Sonax because of the color? Sonax is Orange and isn't P21S Green?

Call me goofy, but...

Why would we buy a carwash product from a Dealership that is fully capable of installing swirls on our car via a "courtesy wash"?

Call me goofy.

i mean maybe it could be sonax, but the bottles are *identical* to p21s. i vote that its p21s.

nope the bottle is not *identical* to p21s. It's identical to sonax 1litre

Here's my two bottles of BMW autowash, the grey one is the latest one, just a change in packaging:D

I'm impressed, so is my mom. I washed my car 2 months ago with BMW autowash and she asked if I had wax it again (at that time I was using Meg 3 steps and I hadn't waxed it for 2 weeks and the liquid carnauba wax would have gone by then in the hot a$$ climate).

Here's a pic of p21s and you can spot the difference if you look carefully ;) .

This is half cap of BMW AW and half bucket of water. Sudddssssss:xyxthumbs . Don't think I'll look for any other car shampoosin a long time.

So you're saying it's the Sonax and not the P21S. It's real hard telling the differences in the bottles.

I've not used *sonax* so I can't really say, I can only say from my own experience ,sonax or not, it's a definitely a great shampoo. I read the review by Davidb;

It does everything you want a car wash to do. It makes great suds, it lubricates very well, it has loads of cleaning power, it's free rinsing, it don't strip your show car wax, and WOW, what a gloss. This is the one and only shampoo that I use where I don't feel like I have to use a quick detailing spray after washing to restore gloss. Sonax Gloss Shampoo restores full gloss.

The above is my sentiment EXACTLY :xyxthumbs

Btw shelshel, what did you find lacking when using the BMW autowash?

It just didn't seem to clean the bugs off of the front of the car as well as I thought it would and I was expecting it to have more lubrication.

wait, let me remove the foot from the mouth:D reviewing the facts, i do see i have made an error in saying it was p21s. i do agree that it is sonax :xyxthumbs I agree with everyone else who says that the shampoo is very good, i would buy another bottle. i have, however, found qew and no longer use bmw shampoo.

As well as sonax it could also be Dr.Wack, the original European P21S manufacturers, Dr.Wack are also a OEM supplier to BMW and others.
