BMW 850 and Tinted Tails Fix

Well, it was a mightly long day today. My buddy tried to tint his tail lights on his SRT-4. They turned out so horrible, I thought I'd puke when I saw them. I don't have any before or after pictures of anything, as my camera had a nice big drop of water on the lens, so all the picture is, is a big blur.

Steps for fixing tail lights:

-Wetsand entire tail light with 600 grit

-Sand with 1500 grit

-Tape off moon for the reverse lights.

-Sand the rest of the tint off to make them legal

-Polished with Cutting pad a SSR 3

-Finished off with Sonus SFX-2

Here are the finished pictures.

BMW 850:

Car was in horrible shape after the trip over from Japan. Swirls were all over, scratches. I did the most work on the car as I have on any other car. I even went to wetsanding to take some scratches out.

Process:

-Wash

-Wetsand with 1500 grit on spots

-SSR 3 via cutting pad on rotary at 1500 RPM

-Sonus SFX 2 via PC on cutting pad

-SSR 1 via PC on polishing pad

-Collonite 476S

-Rims got Klasse AIO

-Tires were dressed with Dress It Right

Interior:

-Vaccum

-Clean Carpets

-Extract Carpets

-Clean with costco APC

-Dress with PB Natural Look

Here at the pictures:

While wetsanding:

Nice work!

One of the rear side shots you have the silver looking very wet.

On the before and afters of the scratch, did you change the lighting? Or move it? The after pic doesn't look as slick and wet. I've done that before where it seems like the camara focuses on the paint instead of the reflection. But great work getting that scratch out.

I don't know, lighting probably changed. There is a window on that side of the garage.

Nice work, that side shot in the garage is beautiful. I don't think I have ever seen that 5 0 badging before.

Thanks everyone.

That 5 0 badge is weird. It was supposed to be a 850i, but he brought this one because he's flipping it for profit.

Nice work, I think importing japanese vehicles, detailing and flipping them would be lots of fun. Maybe I should get into that.
