BMW 328 Opti-Coated

2013 BMW 328, owner picked it up yesterday afternoon, insisted the dealership not wash the car. Other than a few bugs stuck to the front, it was in terrific shape!

ONR wash, Opti-Raser clay sponge

Optimum Hyper Polish using an Optimum microfiber polishing pad and my PC 7424 XP on speed 6

ONR wash

Opti-Coat

Armor All on tires/fenderwells

This one was much easier to do than the FR-S on Tuesday. We arranged a late afternoon appointment and the owner was able to pull it into the shade after I checked for any swirls and then we were able to keep it there. Plus it was in the upper 90s to start (95 when we finished). I think for the next two months we will have to do Opti-Coat first thing in the morning, or late in the day. 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM is pushing it on a safe temperature to apply, even more so because the sun is beating down instead of at an angle like it is earlier or later.

looks great! is it me or does the new 3 series look a lot like the last gen 5 series? love the headlights on it

Well, the new 3-series is a wee bit larger than before, and some of the styling cues do point in that direction, so you have a point.

The headlights are different in the new 3-series, and coming to the 1-series, when it gets a re-do.

The car does look very nice, as always.

I can't imagine detailing in that weather. I gave a few tennis lessons here today in 88-degree weather, and that was enough for me. Detailing is more physically demanding than tennis lessons.

both F10 - 5 series & F30 3 series look identical

this is the largest 3 series ever make so far ...it is as long as my e34 (5 series)

Scott thanks for posting your excellent work

Opti coating is definitely the best way to protect your inverstment

Scott, your the Black car Master! I'm doing the same with Opti-Coat, early in the day or late in afternoon for the outside jobs! To much questions on temperature and humidity and multiple panel wipe downs with Opti!

Thanks everyone! :)

I really, really like the new 3 series, really muscular look and whoever designed the area below the doors, thanks! So easy to polish, doesn't jut out, no odd curves, really easy to work with.
