Blue Ridge Parkway Photos

I recently took my new car down to a Boxster gathering in North Carolina. One of the attendees gave a brief lesson on how to position your car and yourself in order to get good photos. I'm pretty happy with some of the resulting pictures:

If you ever get a chance to drive on the Blue Ridge Parkway, I highly recommend it.

Of all the ones I took (about 150 total), the second one is definitely near the top of my list. I'm getting a few made into 12x18s this week and I hope they still look good.

Thanks!

Awesome Pics! Where Were They taken On the BRPW?

I Went For A Drive On the Parkway Earlier This Evening, I Needed To get Out Of The House And Just Wanted To Go For A Drive. Its Such A Nice Place To Drive.

They were taken at Grandfather Mountain which is just south of Blowing Rock. We got there early just before sunset and it made for some beautiful photos.

I envy you being able to drive those roads anytime you want. We have some nice roads around here, but nothing that even begins to compare with the Blue Ridge Parkway and 221 around Little Switzerland.

In that first photograph it looks like there is some sort of fill lighting did you use a reflector or fill flash?

There is no fill lighting... just natural light filtering through the clouds. The photo was taken shortly after sunrise (I'm facing west in the photo so the sun was behind me). The photo is also a little underexposed.

Gorgeous! I like the one with the road in the background. The '03 Boxsters look so nice with the new headlights.
