Blower for drying

I wish one of the electric leaf blower manufacturers would make one with a short/stub rubber nozzle that we could use for drying cars. Either one that's more ergonomic to hold or a backpack model with a hose. 750 cfm would be nice too. LOL

Anyone know someone that works for Toro, Weed Eater, etc.?

jb1- You could buy the hose section (only) of the AirWand or cobble something together using wet/dry vacuum hoses, and then adapt some sort of cone-shaped vacuum nozzle...just have to find a flexible rubber one, maybe Metro offers something for use on their pet-drying blower.

Well, I still have some cool tools from my landscaping days, one of them being a Redmax 7000 backpack blower. It's a beast, and more money than most of ya'll would want to spend unless you have a lot of Fall clean-ups (like I do). As far as drying the car, yeah, I could use it and sometimes I do, but most of the time, I just towel dry and let drip out the rest while I clean the interior.

JuneBug,

I'm *just* a homeowner but I have a lot of yard to keep up and when my Echo backpack blower (consumer model) wasn't cutting it, I sold it to my neighbor and bought the RedMax EBZ8001. :D Don't think I haven't considered using it.

I know it's been discussed that the gas models could possibly blow a trace amount of oil onto the clean vehicle so I'm thinking about getting a pure white t-shirt or something and using the blower on it for 5 or 10 minutes and see if it collects any type of residue. There's probably a better medium to use to test this theory, I just haven't thought of it yet.

Sorry to sidetrack - leafblowers for car drying FTW!!!

I also use the Weedeater brand with the Airwand rigged up to it. Works well and don't have any complaints.

Wow, jb1 - congrats on the new model Redmax. I've had mine for years and it's still starts right up. Only thing that ever happened to it was the little bolts that hold the control arm backed out - lost one, easily fixed! I'm not an engineer, but I don't think it's possible for anything but air to be blown out. The exhaust is in the back and blows in the opposite direction - careful though, I backed too close to a wall inside the garage and the muffler scourced a place on a poster my daughter had tacked up.

BTW - I use a Kubota Z327 to mow with, it's my "Porshe"!

Well, I'm going to try it out on *something* white in color and see if it spits out any oil residue since I've read that some people believe it might. If it doesn't - I won't even need a MF and my cars will be dry in no time. :spot

I have to cut a field next to my house that the city doesn't cut due to the fact that it's behind a retaining wall so the best I could get the Mrs. to agree with was a Sears lawn tractor. I use the yellow heavy duty blades from Lowe's that look similar to the "gator" blades. Sorry to get off track again.

Leaf blowers are a must for me and my drying routine.
