Blitz or P21S?

I have decided to use one of these two on my car.

Blitz I can get over here P21S I would have to import.

So will I be able to tell the difference between the 2 or not?

Which is better?

How long will each one last?

My car is a daily driver and gets washed most weeks and It can get cold over here in winter so i guss I might be better off using Blitz as from what I read it will last longer.

But I don't like the idea of white residue on the car and as far as I know P21S is clear and doesn't mark bumpers and such like Blitz.

Your best advice :)

IN my opinion its close I really cant tell the difference but Blitz does last longer either one you cant go wrong

This is a tough choice really. What color is your car?

I've never used Blitz, only seen it on some lighter colored cars. I use P21S on my black car. P21S doesn't last as long as Blitz, but I don't mind because I rewax often. The only thing I can say is to use P21S in the summer and Blitz in the winter. Maybe even P21S over Blitz. If you have to pick one, get Blitz for the durability.

P21S is glossier than Blitz. Blitz's depth on the other hand is very difficult to beat. They are both excellent waxes and you can't go wrong with either of them. P21S, along with Souveran and Paste Glaze are hands down the easiest waxes to use.....and Blitz would be a notch below them. I normally use a few coats of Blitz as a base (after prepping with P21S GEPC or a glaze) and then top frequently with P21S.

As for the trim-staining issue with Blitz, it won't be a problem as long as you apply dressing to your trim before you start and use very thin coats when applying the wax. This is a very easy step because you just apply the dressing liberally (with a foam paint brush) to any place you think might get stained. Don't worry about getting it on the paint either because you can just wax right over it without any problem. Nor do you have to worry about buffing the dressing. Just apply it and start waxing.

In the nice Southern California climate, Blitz will probably last 3 months and P21S will last 6-8 weeks. Durability is not too much of a concern for me because I wax every month and the cars are always garaged. If you live in a place with a harsher climate (which I see that you do), you might want to consider forgoing carnaubas altogether and sticking with polymer sealants.

The car is BMW Brilliant Red and is currently under going a very high quality full respray.

It hasn't got that much black trim on the car, all the bumpers are colour coded with a black stripe in the middle.

Few bit s of black trim round the windows.

What would you use to dress the black trim before using a wax like Blitz?

I've used Autoglym SRP before as wasn't that impressed, but the paint was in a lot worse condition that it will be when I get the car back.

Plus you don't seem to get that really wet looking shine with AutoglymSRP

I'm hooked on P21S for the $$$. Blitz has always been a dust magnet for me. Nice shine, but the day after I wax my car is dusty again. P21S is much easier to buff out and does not smell like a chemical factory. Blitz does last longer, but I wax ever couple of weeks, so who cares?

You can get P21S in the UK, go to emmonscoachworks.com

A good friend of mine lives in Essex - in Colchester.

:wavey

Uh, maybe I am wrong...I just got on emmonscoachworks.com and they do sell some P21S products but did not see the wax! My mistake.

I did send P21S an email though, asking if anybody in the UK sells it (maybe you already went this route too). If I find out anything, I'll let you know!

I just topped my car off with P21S (equivalent) for the first time, and it really is as easy as they say! You just wax a couple square feet at a time (if it's warm out like here now) and buff off before it starts to dry. Any longer and it starts putting up a fight. Margarine-smooth, it just glides on really thin and wipes off clean and easy. Smells pleasant enough, though not like any fruit or anything. Kind of a natural, almost buttery smell, sort of like vegetable shortening with butterscotch, but not as sweet. Even though I have lots of layers of other things on my paint the P21S seemed to catch coloured light a bit better... or it could just be me - either way I'm happy! :p

I haven't used Blitz, but also hear great things about it.

As some people are saying I think it partially depends on what you need. A easy to use wax for frequent use like P21S, or a more durable wax for less frequent use like Blitz? Of course, availabilty and final price are factors too.

I feel that P21S does shine better and is a little easier to remove. The Blitz Wax, however, produces a noticeably deeper and richer color. This quality appeals to me more so than shine, but I have to agree with DavidB's opinion about the Blitz attracting dust. I currently have P21S on my car (Black), and the dust that accumulates after a drive is literally cut in half compared to the Blitz. I'll regain the rich color (probably more so) and, hopefully, loose the dust problem when I switch to Souveran. The car stays in the garage, so I'm not worried about durability. I've had P21S leave a little residue on grainy black plastic trim, but much less severe in this respect compared to most other waxes. You can remove wax residue on black trim by using peanut oil or peanut butter. Bottom line? I'd try the Blitz and see what kind of dust problem you have. It'll give that red paint rich color, plus, it is more durable than P21S. I used P21S on an Imola Red BMW I had, and it looked good, but not great. Unfortunately, I never tried Blitz on that car. The problem is that a lot of the products that you guys get, arn't avalible over here, so I would have to mail order them from the US.

Not to much hassel, just more expensive having to import stuff.

Plus it can get cold ovet here in the winter and I don't think waxing a car would be very easy when it's freezing cold outside.

I have an interesting comparison. Both of my cars are Guards Red; one (1997) has been waxed since new with Blitz. As a big P21S fan, I have slowly migrated to all of their products ( love their wheel cleaner, drying towel, car wash, etc.) and began using both GEPC and P21S wax on my new red car (2002). Obviously, I was pleased with the results.

However, I did begin to notice that the 97 (Blitz) car seemed to have a deeper shine ( as RobD mentioned above) while the 2002 (P21S) car was "shiny". As both cars were the exact same color and brand, I looked hard at both and decided I liked the deeper shine of Blitz much better.

Over the past 3 weeks, I stripped off the GEPC/P21S and used 3M SMR to remove some dealer-induced swirls ( a GREAT product that worked wonderfully for me !!), and followed the SMR with IHG and Blitz. Now, the '02 has a much deeper shine that I prefer.

This comparison was possible only by having two cars of the same color parked side-by-side. Although I DO NOT like the trim staining of Blitz, I will continue to use it on both cars.

As many have said, you can't go wrong with either product...they are both fantastic. I found that I personally preferred the deeper, richer shine of Blitz to the shiny/reflective look of P21S.

Hope this helps.

What makes one wax attract more dust than another wax? You are right the color difference between P21S and Blitz is different and one collects(Blitz)more dust than another I can't figure it out because they both are about the same in carnuba arent they?

Pic of "P21S" 'd automobile. My only real gripe about it is of all the carnauba's I've experimented with, the longevity is in question with P21S, about 2 months, this with the car being always garaged as well (but commuting in the elements, rain, in the Pacific Northwest) Be sure to buy the P21S paint cleaner if you decide this route, great stuff and only $10

Edit: I might add, I used it prior to a 2 week vacation on a Ford Explorer, during this vacation at the end of May, we hit snow in Montana and Wyoming, hail (small) and various weather. We put 4500 miles on the SUV and when we got home, the wax was gone! No water beading, finger nail test confirmed.

Or if your thinking about importing, have another look at Zaino or Klasse. Given the strength of the pound to the dollar, now could be a good time and it will save the need for waxing on cold winter days. Just a suggestion, and with something like Zaino, you will probably be the only person within a few hundred miles who knows what it is

Aren't P21S and S100 the same products? S100 is just targeted at motorcycles.

You could try a couple of bike shops to see if they have any S100.

I switched from Blitz to S100 about 2 months ago and noticed a big difference in the lack of dust collecting on my cars now. I think the reason Blitz attracts so much more dust is because it dries to a haze before you remove it. Also Blitz is sort of a dry wax anyway. P21S/S100 has a creamy texture to it and you don't let it fully dry before removing it. It seems that because of the dryness of Blitz, it allows a very small static charge to build up on your car, which attracts the dust. P21S on the other hand must leave enough oil on the paint to keep the static charge from building up and attracting the dust.
