Blast from the past...old products and their use

Well, I have a vehicle that I just bought that I care to take care of. I was going through the basement storage where all my products are stored and started to organize them all to take inventory of what I have. I started thinking of how long products last, can they be shaken into proper use and general are they still good to use. I opened three containers of wax. I noticed all three had Shrunk a bit. Here is a pic of natty wax, migliore and trade secret. They are all kinda starting to sink in the middle and the Natty wax had pull away from the side of the container by about 1/32". the others have sunk in about 3/8" - 1/2" in the middle. Think they are still OK to use?

Here are a couple random pics of products that have seperated. I don't plan on using them. I think the moosewax looks really kinda gross so I thought I'd share lol.

Last pic we can play the "Hey I remember that product from yesteryear game"

Nice! You have some old-school products that I know were very popular back in the day. I am pretty sure that the paste waxes are still good-to-go as I have some Trade Secret, Natty's, and Paste Glaz that I bought around 2003/2004 that still work great. Heck, I probably still have my jar of sNatty's 100 (melted s100 and Natty's) when a thread back then inspired many of us to become mad scientists and blend some waxes together.

With regards to the liquid waxes/sealants, I would shake them up for several minutes and give it a test run. Maybe use your washer and dryer as guinea pigs. I had some really old Wolfgang's that I shook for at least 15 minutes...It had a much higher viscosity than I remember so it didn't spread as well, but the performance was about the same (great look, subpar durability)

Looks like you need to just chuck some of that stuff, unless the nostalgia factor is just too strong for you. :)

lol yeah I will toss a bunch of stuff but I thought it was amusing to see products from 8 yrs ago. This is only scratching the surface of crap I have stored lol. I ordered a couple things today but losing trade secret paste wax would bring a tear to my eye lol.

LOL nice!

Is it just me or do some plastic bottles tend to just build negative pressure and start to cave in on themselves if left sitting?

I had a Natty's do the same thing. It still worked but it wasn't the smooth and easy to use stuff when it was in its prime. I ended up giving it away.

I've decided to use up anything I have left from the oldschool days... the Cleaner Wax, the "3" of the Deep Crystal System, the "Clear Coat Scrub" (anyone remember that?), the super-old bottle of Gold Class...

I'll find uses for 'em before I just pitch those out. Waxing lower-lower body panels, etc.

the other PC- Hey, I remember that stuff! Gee, we're dating ourselves here, huh :o

Oldest product I still use is a little jar of Zymӧl Detail (sold under the old BHMA label as "wood wax") from '85. Still OK despite the cap having cracked back in th early '90s.

Though I do still open up my can of ProWax (what is it...No. 49 maybe?) from the '70s just for the time-machine factor.
