Blackfire Wet Diamond Question

Hi. I'm new to this forum. I was told at the Autogeek Forum that this is the place to go for questions on Blackfire products. So here you go. I took delivery of a 64 oz bottle of BFWD All Finish Paint Protection this week. I was surprised to see that the bottle had no indication that it was the BFWD that had Polycharger. I contacted customer service and got conflicting answers. I was assured that it had the Polycharger but was also told that there had been no change in the formulation. I thought that the addition of Polycharger was a recent change, 2009? BFWD spray that I bought previously, clearly stated on the label that it had Polycharger. I'd like clarification on whether or not I was sent BFWD Sealant with Polycharger. Any help would be appreciated.
Best regards,
Scott

Scott, I have been using Blackfire products for several years. I don't remember the exact dates, but around two years ago Blackfire products like the Wet Diamond All Finish Paint Protection and Blackfire Detail Spray started coming standard with PolyCharger pre-mixed in the product. Since that time the Blackfire products I have purchased have always had the PolyCharger logo on the upper right corner of the Blackfire container. It has been 30 to 45 days since my last order, so I do not know if they have made any changes to the product or the packaging during this time. Please let us know if you able to confirm PolyCharger is still pre-mixed in the Blackfire product.

The 64oz bottle is a generic white jug with a preprinted label taped on. No "Polycharger" anywhere on the label as there is on the black spray bottle. I was hoping Todd Helme could answer this question. I understand he is now in charge of the Blackfire lineup.

I asked Todd that same question in a PM and he said this:

Todd Helme said:
....all new Blackfire products are polycharged. I will look over the store descriptions sometime today or Monday when I am able to pull myself out of this pile of work I am buried under. The Blackfire products in stock are identical to the sold by CMA.

T-dizzle.

I am sure it is just a label issue. No change in formulation is form the move to CMA to AF.

The problem is how do I know whether this is a "new bottle" or one left over from the pre-polycharger days. Without a label indicating which, I'm in the dark.

Hey Truck, when did you purchase your bottle of BFWD? The formula changed almost 3 years ago. ALL BFWD since then has had Polycharger. Great care was taken during the switchover to discount previous formulations and to rotate the inventory. I have also heard of several of the larger jugs not having the polycharged label, so it was likely a label problem. If you purchased the jug in the last two years then it has polycharger as it isn't made any other way.

Hope this helps! :bigups

And welcome to autopiaFORUMS!

Thanks for replying. I bought it last week from Autopia. There is a number on a label on the bottom of the container. It is 11206. If that means this was produced in 2006, then I don't have the one with polycharger.

When I called Customer Service, the person I spoke to seemed unfamiliar with the product and when I asked to speak to a manager I was told there wasn't one there. I was kind of put off by that. I was also told by the Customer Service Rep that I would be sent an email with a pre paid return label. What I got was an e mail telling me where to sent it back to at my cost.
The only way I was able to get any information was to go to the Autogeek forum which directed me to you.

Please let me know based upon what information I have provided you whether or not I have the one with polycharger and to what degree of certainty you can say so. I'd rather return it then be unsure that I spent $80 for the right product.

Hi Scott,

Previously Wet Diamond was not offered in a 64 oz size. All 64 oz's bottles are brand new. Literally ALL Wet-Diamond stock was sold out during CMA's liquidation so I am 100% sure that you have SUPER FRESH Wet Diamond in your bottle.

The reason you don't have a Polycharger Label on your bottle is because the Polycharger label they had been received from the manufacturer (of Polycharger).

Sorry. The label (the Polycharger label) is a separate sticker that is applied on top of the regular label. We receive these stickers from the manufacturer of polycharger and add them separately (after bottling and labeling is done).

In your case we hadn't received the label from the manufacturer, which is why your bottle doesn't have it. We didn't have it to put on. Blackfire with out Polycharger hasn't been manufactured in almost 3 years, yours, which is the brand new bottle and was just made is extremely fresh.

Todd,
I appreciate yor repsonses. From what you have posted, I should infer that the BFWD that I received by virtue of when it was made has Polycharger in it. But in none of your resonses have you actually said that it does. I would appreciate a direct statement as to whether or not the 64oz bottle of BFWD that I purchased from Autopia has Polycharger in it.
If you happen to know, I'd like to know what the 11206 on the sticker represents as well.
Thanksl

As Todd clearly said, BFWD has featured Polycharger as a primary ingredient for over 3 years now. PBMG acquired the Blackfire line recently along with most of the labels from CMA. Along the transition, it's possible either the "boosted by Polycharger" sticker was misplaced, or through human error it was not attached to the bottle. The 64oz jugs feature a unique size label where the "boosted by Polycharger" is still a label that's added separately. The 16oz bottles have the updated labels that have the "boosted by Polycharger" incorporated in to the label design.

Every single Blackfire product on the shelf is fresh, and features the latest formulas that have not been changed since PBMG acquired Blackfire from CMA.

To answer your question, plain and simple, your 64oz bottle does in fact contain Polycharger. Go outside and enjoy it. :rockon

I'm not sure what more Todd can say.

To be direct and to the point your Blackfire 100% has polycharger in it.
The label at the bottom is put on during the pouring of the product, the FIRST two digits represent the year, so in your case 2011. Which makes sense since these are new bottles and yours could not be more than 6 weeks old

Todd

When I there last week, all of the Blackfire Wet Diamond has the Polycharger in them, because when I have left PAC, it had just sold out of all of the BFWD. It's just a label that it's missing and the batch you have is new, like the Todd and AutopiaTech have mention. So don't worry about having a old batch because there are none around, just enjoy putting it on you car and your car will thank you.
