Blackfire Staining?!?

Hey guys. I just got done putting my third coat of BF PP on and have a few problems. When I removed it, there was some 'staining' on my hood and roof. It's hard to describe...they look almost like streaks where the PP wasn't completely removed. I went over it a few times with a MF but they didn't clear up. I didn't have any problems with the first two coats, they went on and came off without a problem.

So how do I remove these 'streaks' or 'stains'? Would a QD work? I have both Zaino and EO QD's. Also, how did I get these streaks? Too much product? Not enough drying time? Too much drying time? It was drying for about 2 hours before I removed it and it was about 45* in the garage.

After I get these streaks cleared up, it's time for my topper of S100. I can't wait to see the results! The car already looks amazing. I could barely get my cover on it yesterday because the paint was so slick! Thanks for any help :xyxthumbs

Did you wait at least 12 hrs between coats? I'd guess it is a multiple-layer problem or else a buffing problem. Try buffing withe some QD and see if it helps, or if it at least moves the streaks around.

Yes, try the QD. Do you have the BF QD? It should come off. QD's always remove streaks for me. Or, you can call CMA and I'm sure they can help you out.

It's weird it happened on the third coat. Could be the temperature / drying time combo??

Z6 should even out that last layer. If they persist I also believe that the oils in the P21S topper will solve the problem.

Let us know which procedure worked for you.

Blackfire II + P21S =

I actually waited about 20 hours between coats so I don't think it's that.

Buffing with QD almost cleared everything up. There are just very very very faint marks now. I might go over the hood one more time with the QD before the S100. Thanks for the help guys!!!

BlkZ28Conv: Blackfire II + P21S = <--Blackfire alone looks amazing . I can't wait to see what it's like after the S100!

I ran into the same problem; QD helped quite a bit, and the remaining "smears" didn't persist after the next wash. Climate was an issue when I used BFII, as well (around 50', humid), so I'm looking forward to giving it another go in the spring when the weather is more cooperative.
