Blackfire SRC Finishing Polish

2000 Chevy Silverado 2500...guiney pig to try out BFP. I could not tell much difference between this and PO85RD. Maybe a slightly faster cut. An X to prime finishing pad and used on one-half of hood, two drops to do other half with PC on speed 6. No adverse effect on clearcoat. I feel warning the on CMA website is just to protect them. The sun is setting so a good pic was hard to get but still able to tell no damage occured to paint from the BFP.

Hope this will ease some fears.

Does it state on the label or do you know what the Menzerna Cut and Gloss numbers are for BFP?

Looks like another product pass for me in the making.

I inquired about this polish last week. Here's the response I got:

"Hi Zane,

Blackfire Scratch Resistant Clear Finishing Polish is the same as PO106FF with additional lubrication. Because we can not guarantee what the consumer might do, our legal department has advised us to just recommend this polish for the new Scratch Resistant Clear Coats.

Hey Ric,

Thanks for being the guinea pig on this one. The warning on CMA's website freaked me out a bit which stopped me from ordering the product. I may order it now, but I'm undecided. I feel much better that it is a safe product thanks to you, but I'm not sure I need yet another polish.

My thoughts are if you use 85Rd or 106FF you are not going to have any problems with BFP.

I have used BF SRC FP on *many* vehicles with conventional clears. Even the softest of the soft show *zero* ill-effects and the product finishes down beautifully.

I would say that on conventional clears, the product is a 3, or 3.5 out of 5 for cut, with a 5 out of 5 for gloss.

Ditto. BF SRC is re-labeled Menzerna, and it finishes second to none (unless you can get your hands on some P085RD).

Can you use LC white pads?

You sure can, and you will like the results if you're going after minor marring/swirls or finishing up. I prefer to use this polish via rotary, but it works well on the PC too -just takes longer to work in and break down.

The gloss / finish achieved from this polish is very impressive IMO.

Thanks for the advice, but it's still unsettling that vendors, e.g. Pakshak, still have warnings about using SRC on pre 2005 CC finishes.

I've used it on 20+ pre-2005 vehicles (including my own) and have never had a problem.

You prefere Blackfire SRC + MG21 before OP/OC/Poliseal?

I was told that the newer version of 106ff and blackfire src finishing polish are the exact same with more lubrication, just different labels and different size. Blackfire is proud to have there own label on this one, I am sure!

This is the only polish that I hear the best talk about with no complaints at all other than some slight dust every now and then. Most is caused by what was left on the paint, maybe compounds or waxes or sealants. Nothing can touch it in the gloss department as far as fast easy cut and the intense gloss all in one! Both are safe for clear coats too. I am not sure why they have that warning. I think it is one of the safest finish polishes made and works fast and shows the best results hands down! I highly reccomend this polish and I could not be without!

Without a shadow of a doubt, it is AMAZING again I can not stress it enough it is AMAZING. Depth, gloss, shine all in one and topped with 21x2 is the best combo i have used

I plan on posting pics this weekend

Would using a finishing pad look better than using a polishing pad if the surface is already 99% swirl free?
