Blackfire Interior Protectorant Review:

Meghan was kind enough to send out some of the new Blackfire products for review and testing. The first product I had the opportunity to test is the new Blackfire Interior Protectorant. I had the chance to try the product on 3 interiors to date and I am pretty very pleased with this product. The interiors ranged from light to dark plastics and Blackfire Interior Protectorant made them all look great with a nice sheen to the plastics and without a greasy feel.

The application of the product was pretty straightford. I wiped each interior down with a mild APC and a microfiber towel to remove any dirt and dust and then applied Blackfire Interior Protectorant with a microfiber applicator. I sprayed directly to the applicator and not on the interior surface.

Observations:

Scent: Blackfire Interior Protectorant is probably one of the best smelling interior protectorants that I have used. Blackfire Interior Protectorant does not have a harsh chemical smell to it. I would describe the scent as “clean” or medicianal” which I really liked. It made the product a pleasure to work with.

Application: This was pretty straightford and simple. The product spread easily, a little went a long way, and I got no streaking at all.

Gloss: Another feature of Blackfire Interior Protectorant that I liked was the amount of gloss the product produced. I would describe it as between a matte and medium shine. The product was not overly greasy and was dry to the touch after application.

I was very pleased with this product and am curious to see if this product can be used on exterior plastics like 303 Aerospace etc.

Thanks for the review, Pat! I wonder whats differnet about this version? Besides the revamped label it sounds like the prior version - ie it leave behind a more glossy then matte finish. Did you dry buff it afterwards?

Angus...I never used the older version of the BF Interior Protectant so it`s hard for me to compare. I didn`t "dry buff" after the application so I would have to say that the appearance is just a tad over "matte".

Thanks for the review. It looks a tad glossy but Todd had shown visually how technique affects the sheen.
