Blackfire Interior Protectant Question

I recently received BIP as a free gift in an order. Its a huge 32oz bottle, so I thought of try it.

I ordered a bunch of stuff, and a few sprayers came in the order. I used the sprayer I thought was for BIP, and - no go. The product was too thick for the sprayer.

While I'm quite happy with the product, I decided just to put a different type of cap on it an apply it with an applicator:

But I can't help wondering. Is this supposed to be a sprayable product? Was I just using the wrong sprayer? It seems fairly thick, so I sprayed the applicator with DI water and that worked well. Is this product diluteable?
 
I have the 16oz version that came with the black bottle and sprayer and sprays a fine mist for me. It didn't appear too thick from what I remember.
 
My BFIP has a thick consistency - thicker than Optimum Interior Protectant.
It is like a body lotion or some shower gel (for body use, not your car...).

Whenever it comes to interior products I always add a drop to a foam applicator and spread it out slowly.
 
There was a batch of interior protectant that was made a bit thick. I ended up diluting it with distilled water. I just got another bottle, no issue.

Oh, so that is why it was the FREE GIFT.

j/k. I'm very happy with it and it leaves a nice silky texture, even on the steering wheel.

Out of all the interior protectant this one is my favorite. Almost scentless and and like you mentioned nice silky texture. Did you try mixing with water?

No. But I was mixing DI water with it on the applicator I was using seemed to work well. I've been using UIG+, but the BF stuff does look a bit nicer, but it may not last as long.

LOL, that was my first thought when I saw the post about a batch being a little thick. I got this as a FG also. Haven't tried it out yet though. Planning to use this weekend, so I guess I'll find out if I also got the thicker version.
 
i have the smaller bottle with sprayer and never noticed any thick consistency. i am very pleased with the product

this is the only thing i use on interiors for dressing and i very much like the results..i was using megs ultimate interior shine i was gifted last year and it was too glossy for my taste

the bfip has a very nice subtle shine and not greasy like the megs stuff was
 
I finally got around to trying this out over the weekend. It was the 32 oz. free gift that was lotiony like Swanic's. I diluted it 1:1 and seemed to be fine. Went on with a sheen and then had a nice matte finish when I dry buffed it. Perfectly dry and non-greasy today.

Todd, I assume this is okay with this "thicker" batch and will still get a few months protection from it?

Not so much as a thicker batch, as we reformulated it better to work with our sprayers. A lot of people prefer the thicker style, particularly as a "cream" you can apply.

As far as actual performance between the two, they are identical.

Sorry, I guess what I was asking was what kind of performance can I expect cutting the thicker formula 1:1 with water? Maybe some insight as to how often I should re-apply 1:1 vs. straight up? Thanks! :bigups

You will change the sheen and durability of the product by a little bit, likely 30 percent or so. BF Interior protectant uses water as a carrier, so you aren't diluting it as much as adding more evaporative solvent.

I would reapply around the 2 month mark either ways.
