Black Wow VS Ultima Tire & Trim Guard Plus

Ultima all the way, but get the 4oz bottle, which is the new formula. If you get the 12oz bottle you will be getting the older formula, which had the problem of the gloss fading quickly on some tires (still works great on trim though). I have been using v2.0 on my tires for a while now and I love it. IMO, it affords better protection since it is a sealant and a little goes a long way. It leaves a nice dark finish without the oily, greasy look. The more layers you apply, the more gloss. I still use v1 (in the 12oz bottle) on the trim, but v2 on the tires. Here are some pics of my car with Ultima TTGP 3 weeks after the original application (nice dark tires that look new). Keep in mind that to maintain the tires looking like that you need to wash them with a mild, high quality car shampoo, I use Ultima Paint Guard Wash. Also, Ultima will work on any type of trim.

I'don't know. I believe David B posted somewhere that they are waiting to sell the remaining 12oz bottles of V1 that they have in stock before they bottle the newer version in the 12oz. Your original post is in inquiring about Black Wow vs Ultima for Trim, so if it is for trim that you plan to use it, V1 in the 12oz bottle works beautifully. You can always order a 12 oz for the trim and the 4oz for the tires, or just use another product for the tires.

Black Wow is not for tires it's for Plastic Trim. Some tire products work well on trim. Black Wow is an excellent trim product.

Exactly! That's another reason to go for the Ultima because Ultima will work on any trim and also the tires.

If I were going to choose one I'd go for the Ultima as it's more versatile. BW does a better job of *restoring* trim but do understand that in some cases neither product will work. In those cases the trim will need to be dyed.

I gonna buy trim protection but the problem is which one is better BW or UTTG? :grinno:

IMHO, it depends on what you want to do with it, I use them for different purposes. Ultima for care of good trim and tires, BW for restoration of faded plastic trim.

On a new vehicle or one in reasonably good shape, I'd get the Ultima for all the reasons noted above. For a vehicle with faded plastic like my 93 Saab or my just-sold 88 Samurai, Black Wow did a great job of restoring the finish on badly faded plastic items. Some of the items didn't look totally black though, BW isn't a dye. It is a translucent, heavy oil with a lot of silcone according to the label and some of the write-ups. If the plastic trim is just faded, BW will probably work great. If the surface is deteriorating, you may need a dye (although I've never used one). Use BW sparingly, the bottle is small and a little goes a long way. Some of my trim required two applications.

I agree with the above. if its old and faded try BW. if you have a newer vehicle with trim in good shape ULTIMA all the way. also get the Ultima PGP, PPP, etc. it is ALL GOOD

Thanks for all! I think i have my solutions, will buy it both. Just like what you guy say one for restoring and another one for protect
