Hey everyone,
I helped out a friend today with his black Maxima. This car was side swiped down the passenger side. Surprisingly there was no dents just some scratches. I first tried Meg's 80 with the g-100 and a 8006 pad. That did nothing so I tried 83 with the g-100 and a 8006 pad and again nothing. I then had to bring out the BIG GUN, my Makita rotary. I used the rotary with 84 and a 7006 pad at 1100-1300 rpm's. This seemed to get the scratches down to a point where they are no longer noticeable. Then I did a final polish with Meg's 82 with the g-100 and a 9006 pad. I only did the passenger side for today I will do the entire car at anothertime. Here are some before and after pictures.
Befores
Afters
The scratch is nolonger visable. It is located about 1/2 inch above my finger.
The remaining portion of the scratch is the blury line about 3/4 inch above my finger.
In the right lite (direct sun lite) and the right angle you could still see the scratches but they are not as visable as before.
