black sapphire bmw swirl correction....

however, there is one small section where a couple of the isolated scratches remain slightly visible and I am not sure what to do next... these scratches dont look any different than the others I removed, yet they remain on the paint... what do I do next? same setup but more pressure? or do I need to step up the cut?

If paint defects remain the next step is to increase the aggressiveness (either by technique or by product selection). Keep in mind that your paint is only so thick and you don't get it back, so proceed with caution. If you try your most aggressive combination and still have defects then consider living with them. :bigups

Glad to see how well you are making progress! :yourrock

thanks guys

once I get done the polishing, I am using blackfire wet diamond sealant and blackfire carnuba wax.... should look amazing on black!

thx todd, I appreciate the comments

I agree 100% on continuing to refine my technique, it looked so easy watching your videos on youtube but when I finally got the flex 3401 in my hands I could hardly control it on the paint, it wants to jump around all the time on the paint... I am going to over the area again and see what I can do, varying my pressures a little bit

ill let you know how it turns out

I was able to get the remaining swirls off the trunk using a combo of the flex and the 3" gg w/ orange gg pad... very excited about the results

question... because I had gone over the trunk again with the tsr, do I need to finish again with wg fg? I feel like I need to (for max gloss and shine) but I am not sure what pad to use

I used the white pad to apply the fg before but that was when it had still some little defects left... now that it is perfect, can I use a blue pad to finish with wg fg? I don't have a grey pad, only red, crimson, blue, white

should I apply it with white on low speed? or with blue?

thanks

the car is done... I successfully removed every single scratch and swirl and defect on the car, I surpassed even my most wildest expectations... it was amazing what the flex 3401 and the wolfgang polishes were able to do... not only to the paint but the bumpers and trim also look better than new, not a single defect remained

as the car is brand new and only had light swirls and scratches, the defects were only minimal but there was ALOT OF THEM to remove... every single panel had light swirls and isolated scratches... all in, I spent over a week working on the vehicle, car never left the garage

thanks to todd helme, swanicyouth and ronkh for your advice... it really helped a lot and made me more confident in what I was doing

I will have a full write up and before/after pics in a few days with all the products I used and all my experiences but here is a quick pic of the car... of course, the day I pulled it out of the garage, it had to cloud over and rain but it still looks perfect
