Black RX-7 Terrible Paint

One of my customers had me come up Thursday and work on one of their customers RX-7s. I did this car almost two years ago for them and the customer wanted to get it done again. Car was in pretty bad shape. Paint showed as little as 3mils of clear in some areas all the way up to 34mils. Plus it had been detailed elsewhere a few months prior and the paint was left in pretty bad condition from that.

The roof and trunk were the worse as they showed only 3mils of clear left. So I knew I could not get real heavy with cutting on them. Though the customer wanted almost full correction of the paint...so I was in somewhat of a bind. Luckly I was able to work M205 on a LC White Pad in for awhile and get almost full correction and removing only roughly .05-.1mils. Other areas only needed M205 with an LC Orange Pad to do all the correction. Paint was pretty soft the whole way around. Followed down with Super Finish and some BlackFire and it got a nice black look.

So you removed all those heavy swirl marks with m205? Did you use a rotary or a da? I have trouble removing any type of swirls with 205
