Black Porsche 993TT

This was a 1997 Porsche 993TT. It's a unique porsche in that it was the last air cooled Porsche produced. This car was in great body shape. There are only 38k miles on the odometer! It is my customer's track car, but as we were talking, he loves it so much that he hates to track it, and does so minimally.

The car was black on tan. My customer took it to Fuller's (local detail shop & wash) and was displeased with the results of the detail after 3-4 weeks. The swirls and scratches were back as they were before he took it.

Here are the before pics:

I washed with Gold Class. The car didn't need a clay. There weren't many abrasives or surface contaiminents. After wash I put the paint under the lights:

I tried 106ff with green pad and it worked excellent:

So I continued with the 106ff and topped it off with Soveran.

Looks great! Was that a P2 green pad and did you use a rotary? If you have some RMG mix it with the 106ff 70/30 106ff/RMG. It will increase your working time and reduce the dust.

I use the Edge system, it was a green Edge pad. I used the PC. Paints 10 years or older, I tend to ditch the rotary and go PC. The work time of the 106ff was perfect though and the polishing step didn't take "that" long...

What would you use to mix the RMG and the 106ff in? I would like to try this.

Thanks for your reply Ryan.

I use a small 2oz bottles from here.

that first after shot was simply amazing. very wet and deep glow. i really need some of that 106ff stuff. maybe some souveran too.

Nothing like being able to turn to 106FF on soft solid black Porsche paint and get results like that! :up

I agree with Bryan, RMG mixed in with 106FF works great.
