After removing a sticker from some black plasic I used WD40 to remove the glue residue and it turned the plastic white!! Any thought on how I can get the plastic black again? I've tried Armor All, 303, and Pledge with the Armor All helping some but but it's still very noticeable. This is on a brand new motorcycle. Thanks.

What did you use to remove the WD-40 residue?

You may want to try some of the dye products like Black Again's Exterior Trim Restorer or Mother's Back to Black.

P21s Finish Restorer or Clearkote Vanilla moose, autoglym 07B, Wolfgang (leave to cure for 1 hour) and Klasse SG

You can skip the klasse and wolfgang if you want to

feliz, it sounds like it might be solvent residue from the WD-40.

You can try just a normal dressing to cover it, but its best to remove the residue before dressing it.

Mothers B2B is a good restorer/dressing, but the best I've used is Meguiars #39 Heavy Duty Vinyl Cleaner.

I tried it yesterday for the first time on an XJ220 I'm detailing for the Grand Prix and it took all wax, dirt, oxidation residue off textured plastic and rubber. Just spray on, scrub with a soft toothbrush and wipe with damp MF.

The textured plastic looked new again restoring its satin shine finish. *Then* you may want to dress it.

Autopia store is clearing it in their garage sale so I bought a few more bottles.

You'll find it here: http://autopia-carcare.com/meg-m-3916.html

Did you use carburetor cleaner or something similar after the WD-40? Reason I ask is because I've observed solvents like that bleaching plastic trim before. I don't know the chemistry of it. Usually, most of the color comes back in a few weeks. But not all the color, and the texture is usually changed to a more matte appearance.
