Black Paint

Hi guys, i own a black 91 Z28 camaro that has been repainted. Anyways i have purchased many products like Menzerna IP/ FPII, All the XMT line, Poorboys SSR 2.5/1 as well. I went over the whole vehicle and i got rid of all the swirl marks. Looks really beautiful thanks to this site. However, in the direct sun or under strong lights, i see individual straight hairline scratches on the hood/spoiler/fenders... I used 2.5/IP with a orange pad and did several passes on either speed 5/6 on my pc. I still cant get rid of them tho! Especially the ones on my hood... Is it that the paint/clear coat is hard? I tried using Menzerna IP with LC yellow pad (all my pads are LCC) i did several slow passes (2-3 passes) over these areas, it made these hairline scratches little less noticable. Is there any suggestions what i should do, should i keep going over it with a yellow pad and IP until the marring goes? This marring is from wiping/dusting/washing the car from the past... These hairline scratches arent to bad, i think i can live with it, because there are no more swirls.. Does anyone have the same problem with their black paint? Any tips would be great! Thanks for all the members on this site helping me have a swirl-free car by the way!!!:goodjob

I have the same thing on my paint :(. I just live with it. I'd rather have more paint with 95% correction than 100% correction and thin paint.

You are right, i rather have more paint then thin paint. But its so awful to look at:down Anyone else have ideas? I would like if DaveKG came in to tell us what he thinks:2thumbs:

I have the same problem with my black 06 lincoln ls. i just the car looks great but under lights in the garage I see it. mostly in the hood.

If the vehicle has been repainted the scratches could be under the paint. It is a common thing with a repaint. While final sanding is done on the car a piece of dirt or something might have gotten caught in the sandpaper and made a deeper scratch and it wasn't caught before the repaint.
