Hi I need some steps to how to tackle my swirl problem on the mercedes. I need to know every step needed with the poorboy products i have. I have used it once but the swirls are still there (2.5,1,ex)...

you might want to use the cutting (yellow) pad with the SSR 2.5. or you just might have to do more passes of the SSR 2.5 and polishing (white) pad. also, be sure you are really working the SSR 2.5 in, to the point where it disappears.

in my experience, a cutting pad with SSR 2.5, PC speed about 5, and really working it in until it disappears, it removes most of the swirls on my car. i noticed if i don't work it until it disappears, i usually get some sort of light hazing that look like mini swirls. if that happens, i follow up with SSR 1 w/ a polishing pad, which usually works.

Just like Hirosh said, you are definitely going to need to use a yellow cutting pad for the job. I just sold my mother's black 2000 E430 and it was swirled and faded from the hood ornament to the tailpipe. I'm not familiar with Poorboy's products but I used 3M PI II RC with a yellow cutting pad and compounded the entire car, then I followed up with 1Z PP and a white pad to bring back the depth and shine. All that was left after that was my topper which ended up being 1Z GW (cured 24 hours) then a coat of P21S. When I finished, the car looked brand new. Don't be afraid to tackle that black paint head on, it's doesn't get it's nickname "ceramiclear" for nothing! :up
