Good evening all,

This is my 3rd detail ever using the PC as well as some of these products. My buddy was kind enough to pay me for practicing on his car so I took upon this challenge.

I apologize, I don't have very many before photos, but I before the correction side by sides are enough to show you the massacre that this car once was.

I work night shift mind you, so I only have a couple hours a day to work on a car such as this. Today I had off and spent 12 hours working on it.

Please read my comment after all the pics to understand my UH OH situation

My process:

Megs Gold Class Wash

Megs Claybar

Megs Hot shine - Tires

Zeps Oder Eliminator

PROBLEM:

Now, Me being in the rush that I was in. I didn't do a proper test spot like i should have. I saw all the swirls and just went to town with the LC ORANGE PAD. Due to the fact that im still new, I didn't even bother with the WHITE PAD.

As soon as I got done taking some of those final pics and the sun started going down.....BOOM. The car turned into a giant cloud of hazey goodness and would not wipe off with a towel. I forgot to finish with the white pad and after working 12-13 hours on this car, it seems another saturday will be in my future with this car, and soon.

My buddy was cool with it, and was happy with the @ 75-80% correction. But, that haze bothered me so much I almost didn't want to give the car back to him. He loved it and didn't understand what i was talking about haha.

So there is going to be a part 2 of this thread. So be prepared for more photos.

Thanks for looking.

well i was gonna throw on megs show car glaze but as soon as that hazing started i bascially lost it, and by that time it was too dark and i am too sore. glad he was happy, because i wasn't.

after you use the orange pad, follow it up with a less aggressive polish and white pad. that will get rid of the hazing and micromarring. i'm sure you'll get the rest next time around... ;)

sometimes the hazing is hard to see without direct sunlight. A quick polish with the white pad and a finishing polishing will fix it. great job, i remembered the days when i would do my friends car.

Great job on the car.

The haze is actually the paint being marred. Because I used a agressive pad (ORANGE) on the entire car. The entire car was marred. Now to correct it. You either have to apply the glaze or most recommended...follow up with the same product just use the white pad to correcting the marring.

You can fill in the imperfections with a carnuba wax or a glaze as well. Not the "ideal solution" but it works.
