Black marks on rims

I noticed this awhile back, my rims (Mille Miglia Evos) alloys with clearcoat finish, have tiny black marks on them, only the rears?? 2 fronts are ok? ive since rotated them to the front, i have no idea what these are:nixweiss you can't feel it with your fingernail, and so far iv'e tried claying, meg Extra, SMR rubbing, and even a dab of varsol on a cloth, thinking maybe it was paint?, nothing has worked thus far:mad: you really can't notice them unless your up within a foot or 2, but they are only 1 year old! i normally protect with #20. im thinking of trying some wheel wax, after reading the story on the CMA site? any idea or thoughts:confused:

Sounds like tar specs, they usually show up on the rears especially if they stick out a little further. Clay them and see if that will remove it.

Sounds like the same problem a bunch of us at vwvortex.com are having with our BBS' that came on the GTI 337.

Check out this thread and see if it looks familiar....especially the pics on page 20 of the thread.

wow, thats a long post! never knew the 337's rims were affected like that, my little black dots are 1 all over the rim, not concentrated in the corners, and 2 very very small, you know im almost certain they are from my rear pads, which have since been replaced under warranty because of excess wear, according to the dealer? nevertheless im glad i have new rear pads and rotors, ill continue working on ridding them of these tiny black marks, ill try clay again, you'd like to think if its some sort of debris ie tar ect, that you should be able to get it off somehow:nixweiss ill keep you posted, and will try to take pics,

thanks for the post, think ill post this on vortex, havent yet? just to see if anyones else has had this happen with oem brakes and rims, or even better my rims Mille Miglia's
