Black Mamba Viper from Hell!

Hey guys. Here is my latest detail. Had almost 27 hours into this, as it was in very rough shape when it came to me. I also had some problems getting the paint to finish down (some of the softest clearcoat I've ever dealt with).

Honestly, it didn't come out as nice as I would have hoped - there are still water etchings all over the car, but it turned out 100% better than it was when I got it. The owner was more than pleased with the end results too.

Enjoy!

Before.

The owner also advised me of a "musty" smell coming from the interior of the car. After some investigation, I found this in the driver's side door.

Questions and comments welcome!

Nice work!!! What did you use on the tires?

Thanks!!
PB BnB Gel.

Looks great! what products were use on it?

Thank you much!

Process was:
Tires - Bleach White
Wheels - Meg's Wheel Bright
Wells - APC
Assortment of brushes and rags used on wheels, tires, and wells.

Wash - PB SSS
Clay - Clay Magic blue (some tougher spots done with red)
Wash - PB SSS
Dried

PB SSR 2.5 via Makita Rotary and CCS orange
PB SSR 1 via Makita Rotary and CCS white
PB PwS via PC and CCS blue (x2)
I tried several different pad/polish combos to finish down on this, and the PwS gave the best results. Everything else I tried marred the paint to a point I wasn't happy with the results. I definitely need to expand my arsenal of polishes.

WG DGPS 3.0 - allowed to cure for 1 hour before being buffed off
PB Natty Red

Tires dressed with PB BnB gel
Wells dressed with PB BnB spray
Trim done with PB Trim Restorer

Thank\ you for your the reply, maybe when you can try Meg's M105 then follow up with Meg's M205 with a PC using a LC Hydro Tech 5.5 Cyan thin pad and the Tangerine Pad thin pad. Your be surprise at the work they will do for you when the nothing else wrongs.

Thanks! I'll give that I try. I had to make the best out of the products I had on hand. This has definitely inspired me to expand my product arsenal though.

Poorboys SSR2.5 and SSR1 for the win!!! I love that combo for correcting :). Polish with carnauba and Polish with Sealant are GREAT for finessing the paint.

That car was in bad shape. What a shame that the owner let it get like that. You did a great job.

I'de like to see pics of the Challenger in the garage

Wow, the owner of that car needs a slap in the face for letting it get that dirty. Great job, seems like a fun little car to work on.

Nice turn around!

On another note, this is for everyone.
Mice nests can make you very sick if you breathe the dust or contaminate your hands then mouth. Sweating can also spread contamination. Always wear gloves and a mask. Some are more prone to illness than others especially children. It is compared to the worst flu you can think of. This comes from years of experience dealing with old car teardowns and my friend who experienced it. There is a definition of the illness it escapes me at the moment.
Clean out your vacuum thoroughly.

Just looking out for you guys.

Not raining on the parade, you did a great job!

Are you sure it wasn't 24 hours of detail and 3 hours of this: :rofl
