Black Magic 2-in-1 engine shine

Has anyone tried this stuff?

Santa was nice enough to leave me a can under the tree this year, but the weather has been too crumby to try it out yet:wall

It's supposed to be a degreaser and engine shine, kinda like an AIO for your engine.
I was able to get my hands on another can of the beloved CD-2, but this stuff sounds interesting.
Just spray it on wait 15 minutes and then rinse with a light flow of water (they say to use as little water as possible).
They also state that no wrapping is required.

I will give a full review when the weather breaks, but I was just curious if anyone had any feedback on this stuff.

I have not but would welcome your feed back once you get to use it....I am looking for a better / faster way to clean engines....on the details that I have done, I like to do the motors on some cars as a surprise to the customer...there is nothing better than lifting the hood to display and clean shiny motor...and watch the reaction on their faces....I hope this can compare to the CD2 as I can't find that stuff in my area to save my life

I just happen to luck out when I found the CD-2 at my local AZ, but with it's scarcity I am hoping that the Black Magic will give similar results. The fact that it can all be done in 1 application will be a big plus. I'm also fond of the idea of not having to use too much water under my hood.

I thought it was pretty good, not super strong cleaning action but nice enough for our nocely maintained vehicles needing a once a year cleaning.

Only thing I did not like was even though it is an aerosal, it would stream out instead of mist, making you use more product to cover an area.

A possible solution to the "stream vs. mist" problem-change the tops with one you like. For example, if you have a tire foam that sprays well, pop that one off and try it on the engine coat.
(**disclaimer-some tops aren't meant to pop off. Some are "female" and some are "male." I have not used the Black Magic stuff so I have no first hand knowledge of it.
Some side effects may include product sprayed all over you and the surrounding area as well as leaving you with an emptied can. Ask your doctor if this is right for you. :) )

Joy, thats what I was hoping for...not the real grunge work, but for the quick maintenance.
Any thoughts on the appearance.

that stuff was WORTHLESS! ended up in the trash. left no shine and did not clean well at all. the CD2 ENGINE SHINE is the way to go. flawless results!

I have used it but I'm not as fond of it as RUBICON he only calls it WORTHLESS. Maybe he is just trying to be nice.

Just spray your engine with water it will be more effective than that black magic. :wall

Well I have had the motor running for a while, so I am going to let it cool down a bit before I try it...We shall see

i just picked up 2 cans of cd2 engine detailer at the az here in my area just to see what all the hype was about surrounding this stuff, the reason i mention it is because while i was purchasing it the manager there said that the black magic engine shine is the same exact product as cd2. i have'nt tried the bg stuff yet but i did try the cd2. it's ok, but i'll stick to malco's perfect10 aerosol dressing for the engine comp. i'll use the cd2 for the wheel wells.

Whom ever told you that obviously has never used either product.
I did a review on the 2-in-1 and was extremely disappointed with the performance of the product. personally I wouldn't even use it on my wheel wells.

If you want you are more than welcome to the rest of the can. Maybe a better idea is, we can go to AZ and we can experiment under the guys hood who told you that they were the same
