Black Kicked My Arse

How do you like the hyper as opposed to the reg compound?

amazing work that car is hot, i had a b16 hatchback myself back in the day

Nice detail! :up

I've had the pad issue before as well. Using the 6" backing plate with a white Sonus SFX polishing pad. The center of the pad is curved in like you mention and there is a noticeable dark mark on the velcro side of the pad.

Can the issue be caused by working a polish too long??

That's what I had thought with mine. Friction + Pressure + Time = Smoke. But I am interested to hear about the bearing issue.

Steve,

First off, great job as usual. Your work is truley amazing and I know you take great pride in it. A couple of questions though. Does the OP not finish perfect? I was just curious why you added the ssr1 step. Is the money in canadian? If not, you can easily charge more for all the excellent work you do. I charge at least 25/hour for my work, and you could easily charge more than that. Again, Great Job!!

Greg

I was wondering the same thing, isnt OP and SSR1 about the same?

Loving the last shot - cool! BUT... the paint on Honda's in the states must be different to that used over here, as today I took 20 microns off a Honda with just IP and a light cut spot pad (only one attempt too), and this was with a PC! That's 20% of total paint thickness! Nearly all Honda's over here can be corrected with FPII and a green polishing pad, so the thought of HC and even a rotary sends shivers up my spine! Great work though, finish looks great. :)

Good job!

I used to have a 2000 Civic Si (Si-R outside the US) in that exact same color. Flamenco Black Pearl... it was a nightmare to work with especially since the car was parked outside 24/7. It was the car that made me swear off owning another black car.
