Black IS250...SWIRL CITY!!! My best work yet...

Well, yesterday I took on a project that I will admit scared me; a 2007 Black IS 250 that the dealership tried to detail, buff, and wax for her. I haven't worked on a car this bad yet and I was scared to think I wouldn't be able to do much with it. I think it came out great. I removed 90% of the swirls and scratches, but some were just to do for a random orbital. Anyway, here's my pictures...

Dawn wash

Sonus Clay Bar

Z7 car wash w/ foam gun

Simple Green on wheels and tires

Menzerna SIP w/ orange pad (2 passes)

Menzerna PO106FF w/ white pad (1 pass)

Zaino Z5 pro w/ZFX (2 Coats)

Z8

Z16 on Tires (2 Coats)

Invisglass on windows

Z9/Z10 on leather

Folex on Carpet and vacuumed with wet vac

I hope I didn't leave anything out

Total Time: 11 hours

Charge: $375

My deluxe wash includes everything but buffing: (This took 5 hours, including waxing) $130

Buffing is 40/hour: 6 hours of buffing: $240

Tack on the extra $5 :chuckle: and we get the $375!

Excellent work Matt! You are a quick learner. Are you still looking at getting a rotary, what about a flex?

How is the finish on the SRT8 holding up?

Hey Bryan! Thanks a lot! I have been thinking about a rotary, but I just still don't understand what exactly is does that the R.O. doesn't. Whats a flex?

SRT8 is still looking really good. Hasn't been driven much at all. Sad thing is, I kept this Lexus over night, and had to put the SRT8 out, and it snowed, yes I just said snowed in Mississippi, today!!!!!!! So it's dirty now, haha.

Rotary will clear up the swirls faster and IMO finish off better. But if the PC is working out for you, then no need to be in a hurry to step up yet. Sooner or later you will run into a Audi/VW or vette with rockhard clear....

Good to hear that on the SRT8. Hit it with some Z8 every month or so after a wash. We are getting the same snow up this way too. I hear you on putting a car outside. Wife is not going to be happy when the truck stays inside and her car sits out. :)

there should be an application process for getting a black car, if u cant take care of it, ure not getting it hehehe

good job tho man, turned out GREAT!

imo most (not all, i know there are people who have them and take care of them very well) people who have black cars are people that dont care about the condition of their paint or who dont take care of their cars (let others take care of it for them) because all of us on here know what a pain black is to keep looking perfect :).

Wow that was an awesome turn around!

People don't take care of their black cars because from 5-10 feet they look great after a gas station car wash lol :D

i have a black car....:waxing:

Wow, nice work, hopefully I can get my black Lexus looking like that when I get my PC and finally get down to choosing some pads and polishes. I can't believe someone messes up an expensive car like that, it almost looked like they went out of their way to trash it. Hopefully they will take better care of it in the future.
