Black Ferrari F430 spider >>>

went to a gathering of italian cars today -- the local guys that meet up every weekend and then go for drives thru the canyons in LA. about a dozen ferraris and a half-dozen lambos.

There were two brand new Ferrari F430 spiders -- one red, one black. Beautiful cars.

But when I went to look at the paint on the black F430, it was hologramed (see the bottom of door/rocker panel photo)

and was already swirled (see other pic).

It's a crime -- the guy paid about a quarter of a million dollars for this beautiful car, and it's already swirled and hologramed. Guess it'll really look like crap in a year or two.

But, no worries, my Laguna Seca Blue was there -- swirlfree and without holograms. (this pic is from another day)

Maybe you should have offered your services?

my detailing services? nah -- I'm no expert. I just try to learn from this place and take good care of my own cars.

Is that those infamous VCR meets? I've got a few friends in Mini clubs who like to go...

not sure.

this was in Woodland Hills, where Mulholland Drive meets the 101 freeway.

The meeting that I like better is Crystal Cove in Newport Coast. Some seriously beautiful sheetmetal there.

I go to Crystal cove a lot. Was just there yesterday and there were a ton of F430's!

It sucks seeing these gorgeous cars in bad shape.

On the upside, your ///M looks great!

my M3 is not quite where I want it to be yet, in terms of the paint. I wish it looked as good as your VTEG.

I'll probably start from scratch again, now that I have some Menzerna polishes on the way (106FF and PO85RD).

It's really difficult to get depth in that laguna seca blue color, so this time I'm thinking about trying for the candy-coated appearance. Maybe FMJ followed by Nattys Blue.

Right now it's got AIO/SG topped with souveran, and then maintained with OCW after every wash.

your lsb m looks like perfection on wheels!

I only wish it was perfection.

I've become totally mental -- I know where the small defects are and when I look at the car, it seems like that's all I see.

This detailing stuff is seriously becoming a disease.

Yeah it sucks sometimes. I have a 540i and man, keeping black clean and looking good is a PAIN! The hood has a lot of small dimples from average driving, etc.

I've got the same car -- jet black e39 540 and there are literally 1000 tiny rock chips on the front end. (the car has 126000 miles, so I guess it's to be expected).

for my M3 I got the front end 3M clear bra installed and it has blocked 99% of rock chips.

for my black 540i, it looks like I'll have to have the front end re-painted.

doesn't surprise me one bit. In my city, I've yet to see a properly finished Ferrari. They all look like crap. Deplorable.. I have yet to see a Ferrari or other exotic owner truly take care of the finish properly. These guys could care less what the finish looks like. I had a guy with a black F355 spyder that had awful , awful swirls and it the softop showed signs of "grey." The car showed complete neglect.. It took me about 2 hours to work on the softop alone, and buddy thought I was completely finished his car. He couldn't bother to wait, so he drove off with a really nice "black soft top" but still with a swirled up paint finish..

That black 430 looks great in the far away shot....nice car anyway.

Your M3 is looking good  . I love that color and always go out of my way to check them out.

I always thought it would be a fun challenge to pick LSP glaze combos for Laguna Seca Blue!

Have you tried CMW over VM or RMG? Maybe even Liquid Souveran. So many LSPs and so little time!

I've got way too much product and not enough time.

I've tried some of the moose products, and I just ordered the complete line of VM, RMG, YMW, and CMW.

I did a lot of searching of the old threads, and it seems like Everett Glass recommends either VM or RMG, followed by YMW, and finishing with CMW.

I'll give it a shot... if I can find the time.

Ain't it the truth. I feel like Burgess Meredith in that old Twilight Zone episode entitled Time Enough At Last! He wanted to read and I want to detail in peace!

I haven't used the Yellow Wax, but I really like VM, RMG, CMW and QS.

Click the link on my signature for a pic of my wifes's Si with RMG and CMW.
