New guy here,,I have a Black car, last year I used the 3M IHG then Klasse SG followed by Blitz,,I was happy with this but was looking for a better deeper shine ,,So I am starting over ,,

Washing W/Dawn

Clay Bar (never did this befor)

3M Finnese it (last year was IHG)

Klasse SG (2 coats)

This is where I am confused, what is liked better here for a Black car..

The Pinnacle Souvean

or

The Black Fire

Also which collects LESS dust

Thaks eeryone :bow :xyxthumbs

I suggest both! :) Blackfire is a sealant and Souveran is only a carnuba wax. Blackfire will last you much much much longer than just a coat of Souveran. Souveran will need to be reapplied every month. The big thing is that Souveran is a topper. Blackfire is definatly not a topper but more along the lines of Klasse.

As far as dust collection, Blackfire seems to collect it pretty quick. A couple layers of Souveran on top and the collection stopped. I'm a big fan of Blackfire and Souveran together. Do some searches on Blackfire and you'll get some more info. Awesome stuff. :up

I would not recommend putting Klasse SG on a car that has 3M IHG on it. The oils and fillers in the IHG will not let the SG bond to the paint properly.

What is the usage of the car? (daily driver, garage queen)

How much time are you willing to put into the care of your're car?

Blackfire is getting mixed reviews in terms of durabilty so I'll say from the information I read that Blackfire will last longer than Pinnacle but shorter than Klasse.

So I would,

1. Dawn (wash with car shampoo if the Dawns streaks)

2. Clay

3. 3M Finesse It if you have swirls (I hope you have a PC.)

4. Wash again with car shampoo to ensure all the residue left from 3M are removed

5. Klasse SG, layer it on with 24 hours of cure time between applications.

6. Then top with several coats of Souveran.

A black car well kept is spectacular but every imperfection shows. Make sure you use quality towels, applicators, wash mitts, and the two bucket method of washing your're car.

Happy Detailing :)

Are you saying that i need the PC to take off the 3M ,,does it come off easily or is it tough to get off,Also the car gets out as possible (weather permitting)

PLease adise what the 2 bucket methodes is:nixweiss

The Porter Cable would be for applying the finesse-it 2. You still do the final buff out buff out by hand and it’s pretty easy. The PC does it about twenty times as fast and does a much better job than I can do by hand. I know some here do a great job with it by hand though.

SJ Sharkie said it correctly, for applying the 3M polish. Worked better than hand IMHO. Tried 4 applications by hand to a section of the hood on a blue corolla, didn't even touch the swirls and I think I made some new ones. I then got a PC with a foam cutting pad. I went to wrok on the swirls, after 4 applications 85% of the swirls were gone and the finish looked amazing, I then went ove it with Klasse AIO (PC and polishing pad) and 4X Klasse (hand.) The finish was darker and wetter truly amazing. The PC blew me away. I'm never going back to hand for using abrasives.

The two bucket method is a washing method developed by moe, a Autopian from a long time ago.

Take one bucket of clean water and another filled with washing solution. Dip the mitt into the solution and wash the car cleaning often in the water bucket. This is used to minimize swirling and make washing safer.

So am I understanding this correctly ??

Blackfire is a sealant and Klasse SG is a sealant ,,do I use both or just one of them, and then top with Pinnacle

Also my car has NO swirl marks ,,so which do I use the 3M IHG or the 3M Finnesse It ,do I wash with dawn after the 3M product or will that wash away the 3M finnese it or IHG

Thanks everyone

IHG is a virtually non-abrasive filler glaze. It's makeup for your car. Nothing will really bond on top of it as far as long-term sealants are concerned, and you will notice little to no results from applying and removing IHG like a polish.

To go the mild route use 3M SMR #39009 or Perfect-It III Machine Glaze . . . but if you have no swirls why not just apply AIO by PC with no other polishes?

Pick either Klasse or Black Fire all paint protectant for your sealer you don’t need both.

If you have NO swirl marks, congratulations! You don’t need IGH or FI2, just build up your layers of sealant and then top with your carnauba. If you strip the wax or whatever is on your car now and find you do have some minor swirls use a mild abrasive polish. Don’t use the IHG before a sealant, the fillers won’t last long and it may cause bonding problems with your sealant. Anyways that’s my $.02, good luck
