Black - EX / EX-P / Natty

Alright I have a black vehicle. I have read that EX is better on black than EX-P because it contains carnuba. However, I have read more people do EX-P (x2) then follow with Nattys. What is the best combo on a black vehicle?

EX + Nattys
EX-P + Nattys

My experience is EX followed by Nattys.

I find EX to be very versitile on both light and dark car's. Just did my Silver Cobra in EX and it look's great and a little more pop to the Metallic.

EX 2X, then Nattys!!

I had a small sample of Natty's that I threw on over my 2 coats of EX and it was amazing. Even with just the two coats of EX I was amazed! Great shine and un-matched protection and water beading. You wont be dissapointed! :rockin :bow

I agree with Mikey......this combo (EX x 2 topped with Natty's) seems to make metallic paint POP !!!!

I have used the same combo on a flat black Audi and the result was also extremely impressive.......customer loved it.

Cheers
Dave.

PS: I have the "old" EX

I just did my second coat of EX on black yesterday with RMG under it. Very nice, water beads like mad dogs hahaha.

Hey guys, correct me if i am wrong, but the applicator needs to be pretty damp for the best results?

I did one coat with just a couple spritzes of S&G, and it went on way to thick, and took along time to dry. Second time i just hosed water on the foam pad, shook off the excess water, and application and removal, set up time, was a breeze.

BTW, what is the smell of it, i cant quite place it lol, it is yummy though :)

Yeah, I cant put my finger on some of PB's smells (heh) But I can tell you this...I've been tempted to take a spritz down the hatch or get a spoon and have a taste test of some Natty's. Steve, do you want us eating and using your products as cologne...OR...Using them on our vehicles?? :LOLOL

I dampen the applicator. The product seems to go on more evenly and smoothly.

I also prefer EX on black. As a matter of fact, PWC/EX/Natty's looks beautiful on black. :bigups

Would you dampen the applicator when you're using ex-p (old version and new) as well? With some sealants adding water seems like the worse thing that you can do. Wolfgang polish and sealant in particular became orders of magnitude more difficult to spread and remove with any trace of water.

Basic rule of thumb would be EX on darker cars and EX-P on lighter cars. EX will hide some of the imperfections in the finish where EX-P will magnify them and make them very visible. I too go with the EX or EX-P (x2) (depending on which of my cars I am working on) and then Nattys. If it is your own car I would wait a day between the EX/EX-P and the Nattys to let it really seal. It will prolong your shine and the time in between applications.

On the mfg. instructions on the label, it says to apply EX-P to a dampened applicator. It makes it a lot easier to spread. I usually mist my app with Spray & Wipe for this.

Oops.. I feel embarassed to have asked a question that could've been answered by reading the product label.. I dont have any in possession yet and wanted to know more about ex-p before mine arrives in the mail (i bought the old version off a DC member). Thank you for your response!

I will! I am just waiting on my interior to come out of the bodyshop and put it back in so I can pull my truck out of storage and give her a good cleaning!
