Black destroyed s2000

Carbon Blue

New member
Hey autopians, the owner of this black s2000 contacted me for a full on interior/exterior detail on this Berlina black s2000 that he had just purchased. When the car came to me it seemed as if the previous owner(s) had washed and dried this car with either steel wool or sandpaper and then used rags with dried leaves intertwined in the fibers to buff off water spots. Im almost sure this was the first time the paint had been buffed since it first arrived here in the states (510th s2000 made in its first year of production) The paint was in HORRIBLE condition, most likely the worst that I have ever worked on. There were deep scratches, attempted hand buff marks and scrapes all over this thing.

The CF hood received a full wet sand job to remove a majority of the oxidation but some swirls were so heavily embedded into the clearcoat it would be too dangerous for me to remove them safely. The paint went through 3 stages of polishing, some wet sanding, and 2 coats of wax to ensure winter protection. All plastics, vinyl, and leather were all cleaned and protected, carpets were foamed and shampooed and the convertible top was cleaned and protected as well. I really don’t get how the previous owners could afford such a nice car and then not even care to keep it looking good, at least its current owner is take the right steps to making it look just as it left the showroom floor. Enough of the talk and onto the pics.

Stunning work inside and out!

How long did the whole process take you? That looks like 2 days worth of work at my pace... heh

Thats just incredible ! At first I thought this guy was looking for someone to fix his car. Im so glad an Autopian got the work, and nice work to say the least.

thanks I used a mixture of folex, and then followed up with blue coral

Awesome turn around, especially on the CF hood!

Curious how much you would charge for this kind of detail....
