Had a black C230 this weekend. Car was in very good condition. The paint had a few deep scratches that had to be buffed out using a pc,Sonus yellow and white pads,HC,OC,OP. The biggest scratches were on the front right fender and left rear quarter.

-wash

-polish using HC,OC,OP

-aio(wheels and paint)

Man, you seem to be getting busy as of late huh? Seems like most of them are dark colors too. Car looks great as usual.

Pretty reflective. Are you gonna top the AIO?

On most occasions I leave the AIO without an LSP like SG or even Natty's Blu for black cars like this. AIO leaves a decent protective layer in my opinion. Although, there are times when I do add a carnauba for more depth. It just depends...

Here is my friends car that I used AIO, 1 layer of SG, and topped it with Concours P21S carnauba.

hahahaha!!! YES! I actually had 3 cars this weekend. I'm from Sacramento and a buddy of mine that lives in San Jose(90minute drive) lined these cars up for me if I would just drive there to do them. So I agreed. I did this silver BMW just before the Benz...but lately I have had alot of black cars for some strange reason. Maybe the detail Gods think that I need some major practice!

That's awesome, if i ever find people near sac town that needs a detail, i'll have someone to reccommend them to! PM me.

it's probably the lighting and camera angle, but that C230 looks much wetter than the M3. Great triplets nonetheless. :goodjob

Looks great! I wonder why you'd go from HC to OC to OP, why not do your corrections with HC and then finish with OP? Seems like a redundant step, but maybe I'm missing something. I also wonder about the topper - in my experience AIO offers about a week of protection at best and really isn't designed as a final step.

I did actually use HC and then jumped to OP on one scratch. On some of the other areas I started with OC then went to OP. I just listed my products as hc,oc,op. But that wasn't the order in which I used them.

Right now the weather is really nice in San Jose so I am comfortable with topping it off using AIO. I have gotten longer durablility than 1 week with it. Even some carnaubas don't last very long.

The Mercedez paint has alot of reflection. After applying the SG and P21S to the M3 it added alot of depth which I was really pleased with. Camera angles do help the reflection on the C230 though.

WOW !!!!!! Great work, I have the same car (black C230). I am a newbie to this page, can you give me any hints for a newbie wanting to keep his car looking new????? Thanks

Nice work there, a lovely looking finish on the paint. I have occasionally left AIO untopped, but found durability not to be that great so I always personally top it now espeically at this time of year... perhaps its the climate over here is harder on it.
