BLACK 2007 Corvette Z06 detail (clay/polish/wax)

Lookin good!! This is going to be mine and the wife's next toy, same color and all unless I can find a decent price on a Jetstream Blue one when we get in the market for it.

:2thumbs:

I was never really into vets until the past two weeks or so. Your car looks stunning!

You were able to correct with the 85rd? I have a 2010 next week and I was freaking out cause it has very light marring and I only had the griots machine. I have read that the clears on these are extremely hard so I was thinking about going to the flex. I feel much better now after reading your post and will be saving some money not buying the new machine for my ONLY customer so far.

It seems that the PO85RD 3.02 took care of everything at the time of the detail. After a few months the same exact water spot etching marks came back! I just noticed this a few weeks ago and I could not believe it because everyone says Menzerna has no filling properties. After this experience I am now skeptical.

I find it strange that the car can look perfect at the time of the detail, and then a few weeks later defects can "reappear" - the same defects that were addressed in the first place.

I am now off the Menzerna train, and just recently tried out Meguiars M105 and absolutely love it as an aggressive polish. A few weeks back I used the PC with the Meguiars burgundy pad and M105 and the etching was again taken care of. This time I did a 50/50 IPA wipedown to check for filling. After the wipedown the spots were still nowhere to be seen. Time will tell if these spots decide to come back again! I don't think I will ever use the SIP (3.02) by Menzerna again. It has been replaced in my lineup with the M105. I still do like Menzerna final polishes however.

The 3.02 should take care of the light marring. Water spots or deeper scratches, well that is another story..... I would recommend Meguiars M105, as it did a great job for me. I think you would save time in the long run by using M105.

Good luck with your detail.

M105 works wonders,i'm not even interested in trying anything else since it has never let me down. The car looks GREAT,you did an awesome job with it,congrats.

Where can i find that brush you used for removing the wax out of the panels/emblems on the car??I'm trying to find one that wont swirl/scratch the paint. Does that one leave any marks? i noticed you used it after the polishing was done.

Thanks! Actually, yes, the brush I used does leave some marks, although barely noticeable. You can either mask off the surrounding areas or use a softer bristle paint brush. I got this brush from Big Lots for a few $$.

It looks 10x better now after the M105/Menz 106FF/CG 50/50 though.
