didn't really find my answer out of the 500 plus posts with "clay" in them.

In everyone's opinion, which is the best clay to use? I've read the product review on Mothers vs. Meguiar's which pointed to Mothers being the better product.

Fine, but what about CMA's PolyClay kit? Griots SpeedShine/clay kit? Any others?

As a side bar question, will claying remove Klasse? Or will I have to use alcohol first?

Thanks in advance!

I have tried Clay Magic, Mothers and Zaino clay. They all work very well. The Mothers and Clay Magic are available at local stores, so I like them.

Claying will not remove Klasse. You can use alcohol, or a mild abrasive like Pinnacle PCL or 3M SMR to remove it.

I like the griots and mother clay so far. Erazer clay wored well but was hard as a rock. AutoInts clay wasnt so good unfortunately. clay probably wouldnt remove Klasse but i would be wary of using it and might actually re-SG the area...i know it removes wax prety well and i think it might thin out the polymer layer, but im no expert.

i really liked erazer. the guy who owns it sent me like a years supply of it to test out. it is hard but i just held it in my hand and let the heat form my hand keep it warm and it worked fine. i'd say if you can find mothers locally and save shipping by all means go with it.

the clay won't remove SG but if your paint is at point where you need to clay then you're probably ready for another coat of SG or whatever you are planning on using anyway.

I prefer Clay Magic too Mothers. Mothers is sticks to your hands more when it gets warm out. It did a good job but I had to go over the same area more.

I like the clay magic. The blue color shows contaminates in it easier. So I can pinch off those spots and discard. Also it is more pliable and not as sticky on the hands when warm out.

I was wondering for the rest? DO the more expensive, buy online, buy through mail, are they any better?

I guess better would be hard to desribe. More pliable, less stiff. Nice storage container is a plus. Removes stuff in one pass. And CHEAP!

I hear Pinnacle Paintwork Cleansing lotion contains clay. This sounds like an easier solution than clay bars. I also hear the results are outstanding.

I have used 6 or 8 different brands of clay. The best, and most unique, is Zaino Clay. It is of a different consistancy than all the others. It feels more rubbery and less organic. It does not leave residue on the surface and glides very well. I use a 50/50 diluted mix of water and Z7 shampoo as a lubricant.:up

My second choice would be Pinnacle Clay, third would be Mothers.

Thanks for the great set up! (I'm the guy who practice with the PC on a 2010 Impala in case I screwed up. Co. Car) I couldn't believe how much the clarity and depth improved using M105/M205. I only have 1 coat of BFWD Sealant right now. Working to the 4 coats. I am using the LC 5.5" flat pads.

There are a few things that will not come out, but hey! It's a JEEP!

Here it is with 1 coat of BFWD

WOW....WOW, look awesome the jeep. I'm very impress with how it came out. It's great to see work like this and the end result is so stunning!

Beautiful :notworthy:

All your Jeep off road friends are now going to think you are an off road poser.

They won't believe a jeep with no mud or scratches.

Looks fabulous !

Fortunately it is not a daily driver. It sits in the garage with a cover during the winter. It pretty much is topless all of the time. If we can't drive it topless, it just sits in the garage. Winter is when I get it ready for spring. Here in the midwest it can get pretty sloppy at times. Thanks for the feedback! The 07 Mo is getting jealous! (pressure from the wife now to get hers done) Hers will not pop like black, but she will be happy. She probably won't get mad when I buy the $70 Blackfire wax after I do hers.

I generally keep the Mo detailed weekly when it is decent outside. I had it in like new condition and put new Yoko Parada Spec X's on it when we went to Tampa during New Years. The Mo sees about 7000 miles/yr and garaged and the Jeep sees 2000/yr. My Co. car takes the whipping. 65,000/yr. I can use it for personal and business. Takes the sting out of keeping cars clean. If it is nasty, take my car.
