Those reflections are amazing!

Gotta try more Optimum products based on the list of products you used.

Yeah, this one definitely provided some great reflection shots. Optimum has always been one of my all around favorite product lines.

9 hours!! u cheat! how do u do it and where are u hiding your extra arms?!?!?

always stunning work with in-depth, fun to read write-ups, and pro-style pics. i'm surprised some of the owner's haven't had u print out shots of their car's for their walls

great work!

I agree, this was a "cheater" Vette with the soft clear coat! Thanks for the compliments as always.

Great work and those shots are amazing!! Also, your experience with the 106/LC white combo should serve as a reminder to most to start with the least aggressive products first........SUPERB!!!

Thanks. As soon as I realized this paint was soft, I immediately thought that it would be a great reminder on why we start with a light combination first.

Thank you for representing the level of detailers we have here in Ohio.

Todd was the reason I chose to really pursue detailing as a hobby and side job, with aspirations to be at his level in the coming years.

Thanks Matt!

great work... thats black!

Thanks! There was a noticeable difference in the shade of black once it was polished. It was there before, but it was hiding underneath the haze.

very nice work Todd!!

That Vette is very low ! ****!

I thought i was low ... but i think this one beat me by 1 in hehe

Great write-up as always!

Thank you for sharing all these informations with everyone, it's very helpful!

As alwasy = added to favorites! ;)

I'll be detailling my baby very soon. 2 weeks remaining before our first meet of the season and i want her to be clean!

:ca

I appreciate it J-F. Let's see photos and a full write up when you're done. You've been doing plenty of research, so I'm sure it will look fantastic.

Wow, that is such a sexy car. You always impress me with your writeups and i certainly look forward to them...but this one just blew me away

Thanks, I certainly appreciate it. I try to throw in some entertainment and educational value while I'm doing the write up.

wow wow wow!

Loved the humor, loved the soft clear (lucky!), LOVE the photography work!

You did a great job. I liked the comment to slow down the scroll. haha.

Very good job.

Thanks! I couldn't help myself on the slow scrolling comment.

Really nice work! :)

I agree that the black C6 Corvette paint isn't *that* hard. I have had to bump up to Meguiars #105 to remove spider swirls but the holograms come out pretty easily.

Love the OS/OCW combo, I've been using it along with Wolfgang Fuzion and Carnauba Moose on a customer's black '07 Z06. Last few times though, been sticking with OS and OCW due to the ease of use and the terrific look.

Great job Todd! The owner is very lucky to have you looking after his vehicles. That Z06 is absolutely stunning!

Thanks Pat!

Thanks Scott! For the amount of time, ease of use, and good looks it's hard to beat the OS/OCW combo!

Thanks seven! I've enjoyed working on all of their cars...great couple!

Excellent work Todd!

Also thanks for sharing the good news about the CC not being so hard anymore on the new vettes. :)

Does the opti seal work well in place of a normal liquid sealant? I'm trying some cream paint sealant with resin and zonyl, wondering if I should try opti seal before it?

It just looks like its as easy as using a speed wax on the car for a QD.

By the way I like your interpretation of "not perfect" lol.

Okay, so you've raised the bar so high that 20 minutes ago I saw, "Black 08 Z06..." posted by TSC17, and thought to myself, "Self...ho hum, here's another one of Todd's write-ups...why not take a peek?"

Well holy crap, and such. Outstanding write-up. Detailed, yet succinct. Good bits of humor (i.e. Mr. Jackson's gloves) to break readers from the hypnotic trance induced by the pictures. Oh...the pictures. Excellent pictures. They complement the text while telling one heck of a sexy story on their own.

So, third paragraph in, and I'm finally getting to the part where I compliment you on your amazing work. Big fat kudos! It is fun "watching" a true craftsman at work. And I love the reminder about starting out with the shaping hammer and leaving the sledge hammer in the corner. (My homage to Shawshank...you did mention something about movie quotes, Mr. Abe Froeman. :D)

Thank you for sharing your work in such a continually impressive fashion.

Three random thoughts...

- Between the finish and the stance, this is the slickest looking modern Vette I've ever seen. (And I've been lucky enough to do some detailing through a local motorsports shop that modifies hundreds of these things...just wow!)

- I do have to wonder what the owner's Teutonic buddies say about driving the M3 to work and taking the Vette to the track.

- White balance. And I only mention it because you did....my absolute biggest struggle, and the biggest factor in my switch to shooting raw. Being able to adjust for my frequent "DOH!" moments when the light changes has been priceless.

Come on now Jerry, you're going to give me a big head with all of those compliments...but it's OK though, you can keep them coming!

If you haven't figured it out yet, not only do I thoroughly enjoy transforming these cars, but I equally enjoy putting together an informative and mildly entertaining thread about it afterwards.

Thank you kindly for the compliments.

I haven't gotten to shooting in RAW because I don't have or use any kind of post processing software to make adjustments in. I've got a simple (free) program that allows me to adjust the size and add a border, but other than that it's all straight out of the camera and into the thread.

Shawshank...another wonderful movie. I never had room in my head to keep important stuff tucked away like Algebra, but boy do I have plenty of useless movie quotes memorized, and I never know when they're going to sneak out.

Abe Froeman

Todd, the Z06 came out perfect!!!

It's hard to believe how quick a car can get in such rough shape, yet we see it all the time...

At least you were able to bring the car back to what it should look like 'perfect'.

Your write-ups are amazing and your work is even more impressive!! Keep it up!!

I'm jealous that the owner is going to take you for a death ride... I had one of my customers who is a professional race car dreiver bring me for a ride in his Porsche GT2 and I was in heaven. I thought I knew how to drive until he got behind the wheel!
