Black 07 Harley truck/black 07 M45

EBPcivicsi

GOT PREP?
This 07 Harley Davidson edition F150 truck was in great shape, but needed a bit of correction. The paint was full of water spots, had a bit of minor marring, but overall the owner has done a great job of maintaining it.

We used M105/flex/orange pad

M205/flex/grey LC pad

4* UPP

Collinite 476s

This M45 was hammered and need quite a bit of correctiontook us about 15 hours to complete.

We used a different combo to correct this onethis paint was not fun.

3M PI3K ECC/flex/orange pad

*quick* buzz over with M105/flex/ grey LC pad

Excellent work on both vehicles! :2thumbs:

Are you happy with the way M205 has been finishing down for you?

Great work! What did you use on the wheels of the Harley ford? They look really nice...im curious of your opinions on 205 as well finishing down, you should know, 2 black vehicles!!

Great work!!

Both vehicles look amazing...

Infiniti paint is one of the worst paints to deal with, but you pulled it off!

Not to thread jack as the corrections from these guys is always top notch!!!, but I have been experiencing finikyness(is this a word lol) with 205. Most of the time it is great but sometimes......... I was wondering when someone would raise the question.

Thanks for all of the compliments guys!

jordanrossbell, we just cleaned as usual and wiped them glass cleaner, then a coat of collinite.

About the M205--it works incredibly well on *most* paints. There are some paints when it just doesn't finish down with the flex/da. I don't have much experience with it on the rotary as my rotaries mainly collect dust now. You need a stiff finishing pad to finish with M205(grey LC, meguiars grey softbuff2.0, etc) on a da. If the pad is too soft it will "twist" and create a vortex effect on the paint which leads to da haze. On some paint that is really finicky you can slow the speed down to 4.5-5 and it helps it finish down. I just finished my first qt, so I am still figuring it out.....

BigAl3, thanks! It was a major PITA! We used Meg's PRC by hand, then buzzed over it with M205 and a green cyclo spot pad. After that we cleaned the letters--huge PITA. :D

a basic question.. can megs M105 and M205 be applied by hand and achieve good results? not asking how hard it is going to be, but will it have close to the same results as above?

Not unless you have *huge* arms, lots of time, and quite a bit of patience! :D

I really wouldn't attempt "real" correction by hand at this point in my life--too many readily available, quality tools.
