This lightweight, handheld unit will go where you go. Powerful pump shoots high-pressure spray deep into fiber, then powerful suction quickly lifts out spills before they stain.

My description:

I got mine at Target on sale a number of months back. This thing is great. For the car it works perfect to do carpet. The handle is not to large and it is easy to move around in the car. It works quite well also. I always worried about some of those cleaners were you spray it on and only try to wipe it off. Most of the time I felt I was leaving more then you wipe off. With this you vacum up not only the dirt, but the cleaning solution as well.

It also works well for the house. When ever there is a liquid spill on fabric or carpet, you grab this and vacum it right up. Well worth the money. I am debating whether I should spend the money for a larger one. The smaller one is almost more handy to have around since it is so easy to move around and get to hard to reach places.

I've been eyeing one of these for awhile now.

What model did you get, and how much water does it leave behind? Also how long does it take for the carpet to fully dry?

Thanks!

If you go to Targets web page www.target.com and do a search for Green Machine it will pop up. It is about the size of two or three gallon milk containers. Not real small, but small enough to carry around. The extension cord is very long which is a nice feature.

As for cleaning, it really depends on what you do with it. You can do a simple clean were you actually just pull the trigger, let the water come out and then immediately vacum up the water. This drys quite quickly.

I find it works better if you hold the nozzle close enough that you can spray an area with the liquid, yet far enough that the vacum part does not vacum it up. I then either let it sit for a few seconds or for really tough stains scrub a little. Then I vacum up what is left behind. Since there is more time for the carpet to absorb the solution, it takes more time to dry. Also the nozzle is just the right size to get into tighter areas were you can not get with most larger wet vacums.

Really tough stains I will actually pretreat with solution, scrub and only then use the Green machine to vacum up what is left. This works really well for tough stains in a car. You don't need to worry about getting the carpet to wet since you can just use the Green Machine to vacum up the remaining solution.

I have even used the water hose on car mats, gotten as much water out as possible by hand and then used the Green Machine to make it very close to dry. Using it as a wet vacum rather then a cleaner.

The suction is much stronger then you would imagine. It won't suck up your floor mats, but it will pick up enough of the liquid to allow air dry without to many problems.

The only bad thing I can say is that it is on the noisy side, but I guess that is to be expected.

I've used my little green clean machine on my carpets and everything in my car, it actually seemed to remove some of the oil on my parents floormat when I did their car, not all of it though

But it still made huge improvements

After reading this I had to get one. I used my 303 carpet cleaner for a cleaning solution and then turned the Little Green Machine on some carpet stains in my house and it was wonderful. Then cleaned my floormats with it and was very happy. I really liked the size of this for spot cleaing in the house and for auto cleaning.

Hey there.. I am new to this whole thing, but value my cars cleanliness very much. After reading your excellent review, I went to Target.com and Amazon.com, and they don't make the little green steam machine any more... they seem to be called other things. Can you take a look to see if you recongize your product under its new name?? That would be appreciated... thanks..

Search for Bissell and you can't miss it. ;)

this might be a stupid question, but it does act as a normal vacuum as well right? if i don't want to use the cleaning fluid every time?

I was looking at one of those tonight while I was at Lowe’s with my wife (Bissell Little Green Pro Heat). It’s not on sale and has a $99 price tag. It looks like it’s just the right size for doing interior seats and carpets. I will shop around to see what kind of pricing I can find before I buy it though.

There are actually two models of the Little Green Machine. The ProHeat has a heating element and, I believe, a powered scrub brush. It costs about $99. The regular Little Green machine has neither the heating element nor the powered scrub brush; it costs around $70.

The machine can be used as a vacuum only. Cleaning solution is sprayed only when a button is depressed.

WOW, I didn't know there was so much going on in this thread. Glad to see people see the Green Machine to be as much value as I see it.

It seems my model is no longer available from Target or at least Target.com. It looks as if they have a newer version out now. Can't comment on how this model works, but I will say the nozzle does look larger. I am not sure if this is good or bad.

The great thing about my version is that the nozzle and the machine itself are small enough to carry around from place to place. Hence its greatness for use in the auto. I guess the new version also looks pretty small.

As for using it as a vacum I would not recommend that. The pickup part or vacum part is pretty small. I think it was designed to pickup the remaining water, not large dirt particals. I always vacum first and then use the Green Machine. The cleaning solution is applied by pushing a button.

I would be interested to hear what other cleaning solutions people have used in this machine and what other techniques people have used with this machine. The solution that Bissell sells is pretty costly, so I usally create my own solution with something laying around the house. If you do want the solution Bissell sells then they sell it in bulk at Costco for pretty cheap.
