Bird poop!

I left my car at wal-mart parked all the way in the back in a shady spot for a half hour, and well, when I got back, I counted a total of 12 splatters of bird crap. I just got home, and the sun is very strong, so I'm just going to wait 2 hours or so and I'll wash it. Is this okay? My paint won't get damaged or anything, right?

Agree with ZaneO. If you wait too long it can possibly etch your paint. Pre-treat the area with Spray and Wipe and wipe off or better yet just wash the car.

I've seen damage occur within 1/2 an hour where the surface was "etched" from the plopper. Other times there has been no evidence of damage at all....just last week some bird made doodie on my trunk lid and I didn't notice it 'til the following day. Needless to say, I nearly crapped MY pants :angry when I saw. I cleaned it off and there was no damage...none. (Thanks, Pinnacle!) Wow, was I relieved.

Be safe: Clean it off asap...

Back, only 4 of the spots were on the paint, so I got them off and there's no damage at all. The rest are on the windows so they can wait until I wash it once the sun's intensity decreases.

Most find best way is to wet down with a good QD and cover with a piece of paper towelling so it soaks off and then rinse it off with more QD. Covering the spalatter with a very wet piece of paper towelling lifts it off. Never try to remove bird poop dry and don't leave it on the paint. I've seen it etch the finish (on other cars) real good.
