Biggest Pet Peeve??

Not sure if I missed this one but tire dressing down the side of the car. Usually cars coming from Car washes.

I hate it when i bust my butt cleaning my carpet and floor mats and then it rains and i have to get in the car with wet dirty shoes...GRRRRR

All good ones. My biggest is the guy in front on the highway turning on his windshield washers, followed closely by the landscapers.:wall

I had a regular customer who would never clean out his Grand Cherokee, and he basically lived in the thing. Work clothes, old mail, dirty gym clothes, trash, work papers(bank employee) all mixed together. I would sometimes spend the better part of an hour just getting to the detailing part.

We just recently has tennis ball to baseball size hail. I was lucky but my neighbor who keeps his car nice wasn't. I would say that would be a peeve.

My biggest peeve is fixing other "so called detailers" mess ups. I always get requests from my dealership client to go over cars and get what the guy at the other place missed.

I hope you are charging top $ for that. Sounds like he is using someone who is cheap to do the bulk so he doesn't have to pay you for the whole thing.

I will fix a hacked car one time to win over a customer, but the second time I'm gonna ask why they didn't call me first. If they have the balls to do it a third time I'm charging them extra.

  • The flagrant misuse of the word Professional.
  • Not enough time to use up all my detailing supplies
  • People that think their car is a trashcan
  • People that throw trash in the back of my truck

I have others but I might just overload the server....;)

The thing I absolute hate detailing most is cleaning the damn back window of a car especially a 2 door car, I have to crawl into the backseat when it is hot as hell outside, and then I have to stick my hand in awkward positions to clean it, and then after I get it all cleaned and see streaking, I have to do it all over again!

I do alot of Porsches. I feel your pain and not getting any younger or flexible.:bigups

That's why I use one of those "Glass Wizard" wands; they're even threaded on the bottom (at least the one I have is) and I can screw a broom handle on it to reach into the back while sitting in the front seats or standing next to the car.

Also comes in handy for the windshields on cars with an aggressive rake (think Camaro, Corvette, etc.)

Working at a dealership and doing this on the side and to my cars and the families I have a darn good amount of peves, here are my top four...

1) Smokers! AHH! Whats that, you would like your windows clean?...Please don't smoke in your car, unless you like riding in an ash try!

2) Porters at my current job who can't/don't know how to keep their working area clean!

3) Mirror, trim, lamps, etc which seem to never stop leaking after going over them with an airgun.

4) People who think because of my younger age, I might mess up their car/truck. I do this because I've gotten damn good at it!

Take this in the spirit it's given

I'm a smoker

You're being paid to do a job.....

Understood and understand Ronkh (I take it in good stride).

However, I don't like to hear customers complain, while I'm writing them a quote about how they can't see when it's dark out because of the tar buildup on the inside of their windows.

Although, the customer is always happy when they leave and that must be why they continue to come back :yay

My biggest pet peeve would have to be gum/candy in the cup holders or ash tray. Or worse yet ground into the carpet.

When dealing with it I always think to myself, "How hard can it be to wrap it in paper before putting it there?"

It also really bugs me when people mix their trash with their belongings in the center console so you have to fish through and decide which is trash and which is not.
so true on the gum etc. minivans are hell

My biggest Pet Peeve is while I'm trying to wax my car, I have to blow the bugs off of the car. For some reason they love the orange on my car.
