Biggest Pet Peeve??

Hey guys, I was helpin my mom clean her car for Mother's day yesterday (just a quick wash and wax), and as I was winding up the hose, I realized that if there was anything to make me not enjoy this hobby of mine, it would be cleanin up afterwards. I absolutely hate, cleanin out the buckets, and mitts, and putting everything away!

Now I obviously don't have customer issues, and ordeals with suppliers, as I imagine a lot of you guys do, but I was just wondering...what is your biggest pet peeve when it comes to this hobby/job/passion that we all share?

Bird poop within the hour, rain within a few hours. :D

As far as the actual process, the water drips/runs from under molding, mirrors probably frustrates me as much as anything. Even after using a blower or an air hose, all of our vehicles have some places that still drip.

My biggest pet peeve would have to be gum/candy in the cup holders or ash tray. Or worse yet ground into the carpet.

When dealing with it I always think to myself, "How hard can it be to wrap it in paper before putting it there?"

It also really bugs me when people mix their trash with their belongings in the center console so you have to fish through and decide which is trash and which is not.

:rofl I never even thought of the drips...that drives me up a wall too!

And Troy, yeah that's gross...I guess I should consider myself lucky that I only ever work on my own cars, so I know better than to do that stuff. Although I consider you guys lucks, as you have the talent and know-how to actually do this for a living, so figure that one out! :lol2:

It's amazing what ppl do to their cars...I remember some of the stuff the clean-up kids at the dealership I sold at had to deal with from incoming trades...Often times, disgusting, and sometimes just disturbing!

Biggest Pet Peeve: Seeing a beautifully detailed car at a car show with "brown" tires, that have obviously been ignored. After all, they're not part of the car!!!!!:wall  :wall  :wall

Cancelations....People who do not have the common courtesy to at least call and tell you they can't do it on the date they have appointment for.

I have a 2 strike policy here...1 last minute cancelation is forgivable. They do it again I won't ever do work for them again.:chop

Dirty fender wells are my pet peeve. Also i have seen ppl do a sloppy wash job and dress the tires with a whole can of tire foam.

$100 Detailers on Craigs List. They give people a false idea of what a real detail should cost. I don't do it for the public but have been thinking about it and not sure how I am going to sell customers on the difference between a $100 detail and a 400 to 800 dollar detail that I would like to cater too.

A portfolio or website would be the easiest way to show the difference. There is a market for both the 100 dollar job and the 800 dollar job. Those that are willing to spend that kind of money already know the difference and would seek out someone who charges the proper amount.

89% Humidity...:passout:

When nothing will dry right,:wall The Garage floor stays wet,:wallVacumn hose hits the ground(gets wet)then it leaves a mess on the interior.:wall

O i forgot another big peeve is after a marathon wax session and i take my celebratory ride and i get down the road and the darn sprinklers have covered the road with water:mad: and there is nowhere to go but through it. Then i have to pull over somewhere and wipe all the water off.

Driving on the freeway right after detailing my car and the guy in front of me runs his windshield washer spraying right over the roof, Or it never fails around here on I-81 Tractor trailers with clumps of dried up mud falling off and whipping up a dust storm for me to drive through.:wall:huh::wall
