Big trouble at the Audi dealership

Stories like this really tick me off. This dealer could have ordered an identical vehicle and sold the other to someone else, but instead chose to make an *** of himself and alienate potential future customers.

I think it's very reasonable for each of us reading this saga to e-mail this dealer just to let them know that they'll never get our business. They need a kick in the pocket book (and elsewhere) to wake them up.

They would not give any comments a second thought in fact I would be surprised if Mr. Cartelli did not threaten to have you arrested also. If you are in our area avoid Fathers and Sons Audi, West Spfld., MA. Instead give your business to Hoffman in East Hartford, Ct. they are as nice as Fathers and Sons are mean. And that is very, very mean.

I can sympathize with you, RJJ. Last July, I took delivery of my Ming Blue A4, replete with a terrible finish that didn't show when I picked it up.

To make a long story short, I fought with the management of HBL (here in Northern VA) and logged complaints with Audi of America.

Before my 3rd call to Audi of American, management's story was that there was no way the car would be repainted, which their collision estimator said it would need. This was told to me in a manner that I didn't appreciate, especially for a near $40k car.

Audi of America's story was thay it wasn't their problem, the paint problems happened after the dealer took delivery, although they could try and talk with the dealer.

Less than 10 minutes after my 3rd call to Audi of America, I received a call from HBL management and the story went from "no way" to "we'll take care of the car for you". It ended up only requiring buffer attention with skilled hands ... no the $5/ hr monkeys with buffers that prep the car for you.

In my case, AoA helped out. While it seems to late for you, RJJ, perhaps you could explain your displeasure to AoA.

kcarter, it does seem that a pleasant Audi ownership experience is a crap shoot. Very happy that your situation was resolved and that AoA was able to assist. While they were always very pleasant to us on the phone, and while they did call Fathers and Sons all that was accomplished was that we did get our owners manual; no further action was initiated by them because we were told they were unable to be of further assistance.

We paid an extra $450 usd for our paint option, I hope yours was a standard color.

The Klasse twins and all the great info on this site, with a whole lot of hard work has produced a presentable car plus we have found a fantastic Audi dealership (Hoffman, East Htfd, Ct.) who is treating us like we are the most important customers in the world so we are optimistic.

Good luck they are great cars aren't they!
