Big MFs

3M does make microfiber towels. They aren't the greatest for automotive use as that wasn't their specific purpose when designing.

I have a few of the 28"x54" waffle weave towels from JT International. They are great!! The quality is very good and the price is exceptional. :up

Hey guys I just came off of the [I'M A SPAMMER] website. They offer a 18x36 drying towel for 11.99. you could two of those towels to dry a car and it would only cost $24 unlike the one towel from CMA. Or if you want a 100% polymide Microfiber Chamois thats 18x21 they sell that for $7.99. You could get two or three of those machine washable microfiber chamois for the same price as one medium sized towel from CMA or anywhere else.

I would check their website out at Concours Direct. They have some of the best deals around.

I need waffle weave towels. The ones I have from autogeek.net are not impressive :down , even though they are the 16x24, they are not better than my Packshak:up .

How are the ones at premiumautocare.com or at concours direct?

I dont think that Concours has the waffle weave yet. When I talked to them I asked them and they said they were going to carry it soon. I have tried both waffle and regular and its really about the same. I really like the Microfiber Chamois. It is so soft and feels just like leather only you can machine wash it and it is great for wiping the face gauges and wood trim and window smudges after drying the car and door sills.

They offer the chamois for only $7.99 and it is 18x21. Thats pretty big and you can always get two or three for the price of one cumbersome big towel that like to touch the ground and dirty when you dry the lower panels of the car

Okay, finally something to contribute.

The three towel types from Tom Gong (Jt International):

Green = 28x54" Waffleweave

Blue = 16x16" microtouch

Red = 15x15" ultrafine

Were they any cheaper on ebay?

Cheaper than what? I've only seen JTI towels on sale through ebay. (Good deal though, 10 towels for ~$25)

A big MF locally, like in a store? Not likely, they can be quite the specialty item.

I love the waffleweave. I can dry a pickup and a sedan washed back to back. I would have used 3 bath sized cotton towels to do that, and they would leave streaks.

I have used a 16x16 towel at the beach strictly for drying after a swim because I forgot the regular towels that trip. A couple of wringing out, but it worked in a pinch.

CMA sells the Big Blue, which is a 25x36 MF, and it is WAFFLE WEAVE. I own one and love it. Really gently on my car. Best for drying- the only problem I have is wringing it out because it's so danged big!

Cheers!

John

I also bought my Big Blue from CMA and after trying so many different shams (synthetic and natural), I think it's the best so far.

I wouldn't trade it for anything else. It's also the perfect size (25"x 36") for my needs....V :xyxthumbs

I'll ask again........

Where can I buy big towels, microfiber or equivalent locally? JCP? Bed, Bath and beyond? I went to these stores and I did not see big MF's

I refuse to use the US mail service. I'm in boycott mode. Sorry fellas but you would understand if you knew my situation.

I do not support incompetant people or companies that harbor them.

Then I guess there are an awful lot of things you'll be doing without. If you're so intent on not using the USPS then pay the extra $$ and have them ship it FedEx or UPS.

I've not seen any local stores that sell waffle weave MFs and like 68GTO said they most likely wouldn't be the quality that autopians expect.
