BFWD Application Question

I have The Witness installed in my car. We got a lo-jack when we purchased the car, and it turns out the Lo-jack was never activated properly by the dealer and we did not even know this until a year later. There is no way to check if it is working properly.

About 3 months ago, I got The Witness and we like it. I can control the car via the web or phone. Unlike Lo-jack and On-star they claim to have a broader coverage.

The thing that (I believe) is unique about LoJack, is that your local law enforcement will be able to track your car for you right away. I know their recovery rates are pretty awsome, they usually get stuff back before there is time for a lot of damage. They have a website too: www.lojack.com and seeing as how I've been a stockholder since 2003, I think EVERYBODY needs this product :-)

Directions say to do one section at a time. What problem may I create if I decide to apply sealant to the whole car before wiping off? What is the reason for doing a section at a time?

BFWD can be applied and removed in a number of ways, it is one of the easiest to use, and most forgiving paint sealants available.

You can apply it to the whole car and allow it to haze, then remove.

You can apply it a section at a time, and remove while still wet with no effect on durability, looks, or longevity (prior to hazing).

If you choose to let it haze then I would recommend making it sure it is completely hazed before removing, if you catch it in the in between state (started to haze but not completely) then you can have some streaking when wiping off.

If you apply it a section at a time, then wipe off immediately. If you choose to apply it to the whole car, then allow it haze for a little while (30 minutes or so) then remove.

Either ways your car will look amazing and be extremely slick!

Welcome to TID Shamus.

This is a great forum, and you can learn a lot from some great detailers.

I like to apply BFWD to the entire car and let it dry for about 30 - 45 minutes, and then remove. As Todd mentioned, there are a number of ways to apply BFWD, and you will love the results no matter what method you decide to use. It is the BEST sealant I have ever used. Looks great and is a breeze to apply and remove.

Good luck.
