BF won't come off plastick trim-What do I do?

I used BF on my black F-350 with a pc. The BF got on the textured door handles and bed rail covers, two weeks later all those plastic pieces have a tan residue on them and i can't get it off. Its been 3-4 months now and the residue is still there and has not faded a bit. I tried acetone, wd-40, soap and h20, silicone spray, and nothing will remove it. I used a toothbrush to scub also. How do i get it off?
 
If neither peanut butter nor a white drafting erasor work, then try hitting it again with a strong solvent (like WD-40) and follow it up with something like Black Again or Back to Black or Meguiar's Trim Detailer.
 
I've noticed with the new sample of BF all finish paint protection that it restored the trim rather than staining it. You might want to pick up the new forumal from CMA. Just a thought!:D
 
I have had pretty good luck using 303 Aerospace Protectant for removing the white chalky stains in the exterior door handles and the top bed liner on Ford trucks. You can also use Black Again from CMA as it will work with any color vinyl trim. The product is clear and penetrates the pores in rubber and vinyl to dissolve old wax residue.
 
zx1200r, the erasers do work well, but just a heads up - if the plastic trim has a sheen, the eraser will probably leave a dull area where you used it. I've experienced this before and it is noticeable. As Intermezzo also suggested, the peanut butter (or just buy peanut oil) may remove the residue.
 
I don't know why the tooth brush didn't work for ya. I guess it may be what you were using to scrub it out with. Any kind of protectant like Armor All or 303 used with a tooth brush has always been a good technique for me. When you are out on a job and you realize that you got something on their trim, you don't neccessarily want to be busing out the jar of PB in front of a client. LOL That trick works too though. I keep a couple different tooth brushes in my kit for different purposes. Getting crud off trim is just one of them.



Good luck! Watch out for the trim with the old BF. It says on their website that it can stain the trim.
