BF vs WG vs FMJ vs UPP - which one?

Hi, I am almost done using my batch of Wolfgang sealant on my black car. I was happy with it. Now, I was thinking which way should I go : UPP, Menzerna FMJ, Blackfire Diamond or back to WG. Your suggestions and experiences would be quite helpful. Thanks again. Oh, I am leaning towards a slick deep finish, fyi.

I have blackfire including the Sealant and the gloss polish. While it makes a deep slick look however its durability isn't that great. I love the Menzerna line, those have worked great for me. Haven't tried the others yet.

on black I like wolfgang.. if I had a choice... i would wax.... with natty's blue..

I haven't used ex or ex-p so i could help you there either

Thanks. I would like to hear more about UPP, I know its supposed to be very slick, but, does it excel more on light colored/metallic cars?

Stephan, are you guys saying from your experience, FMJ gives that same deep wet carauba look as BF? Thanks again.

A swirl remover, Klasse AIO and 4 Star UPP has been my favorite combination since July of 2002.
The UPP is very slick and looks good on any color I have used it on.
Red, very dark blue metallic, maroon, silver, white.

9/12/2006 Edited to remove some comments. I decided they were off topic and really had nothing to do with the posters original question about specific products.

I haven't experienced a significant difference in the sealers listed above. I would probably give UPP and BF the edge on retaining slickness. All of them fade after a few washes -but a booster QD will help.

My personal preference on my black paint is Zaino Z5Pro & Z8. :)

Perhaps not quite as deep, however I noticed it seemed to last longer.

Great feedback everyone!!! I guess I am going to stay with WG for now as
(1) it seems to be on par lookwise to BF but w/o the stain trim issues
(2) easier to use than BF (infact so easy, I usually do not use any spray sealants to top it since reapplying only takes a few minutes longer).
(3) Cheeper than FMJ and seems like it would give a deeper wet look.

I might try FMJ next, whenever there is a sale or something. Thanks again.

I haven't yet taken the opportunity to try any of the mentioned products except UPP. My experience with this product echoes that of others in regards to the slickness of the finish after application. I use the product primarily on lighter color paints. From my perspective, it excels on whites and silver metallics.

If it ain't broke - don't fix it.

Spoil Sport

I agree with Mr. Clean. My wife's and daughhter's cars really shine with UPP.Both cars are metallic.
I found that the Wolfer's darkened it a tad.
I haven't tried BF or the FMJ.

If you do not detail it in the winter..no garage..I would pick the most durable sealant of the ones mentioned...If you have a garage..what ever you decide will be fine....some sealants do not do well with salt and calcium.magnesium and the newer liguid road de-icers..it tears them up..and have to be re-applied during winter...

Al, I agree with you on some sealants not being able to handle the salt ect. That's why I might topp whatever I use (I have three cars to worry about and may use different products on each) with a quality carnauba. I will then layer the nauba whenever possible. Question is will I be able to topp WG, its great looking by itself:cool: .

I used WG: clay, pre-wax cleaner and sealer on my Toyota RAV4 with flint mica paint - looked great. Then I had to "top" it with Natty's Blue. I could not tell much difference, certainly not the great and wonderful results I thought I'd get after reading all the hype. My wife said it looked better, though I'm not sure if it did or she was trying to make me feel better about it. Two things: 1, the paint is now a dust magnet, 2, I can't put another layer of WG on it wothout doing the pre-cleaner again. My advice, stick to WG!
